Precise Fit, Threads, Better than the ..
Better than the knockoff version that is sold for roughly half price. Wanted USGI but that's about double and you roll the dice a bit if threads and splines have been abused. The fit on this was PERFECT on my M1A. Absolutely zero wobble. Before installing, I taped it on a little bit more at a time with soft hits from a rubber mallet. After about 3 to 4 times taping on and taping off, on the last cycle, it was seated, tightly, 0 wobble. An exact fit and the required taps were due to the finish wearing in, not the size of the splines. When you tap the hider itself with something metal, has a perfect "ting" noise. Again, seems well and precisely maded. PLUS has a bayonet lug! Takes the M6 bayonet which there aren't many around of and have gotten a bit pricey. I also ordered a fresh set screw and castle nut, as wanted fresh fasteners. Those fit precisely as well. Another $13 for peace of mind, well spent for me at least.
Exact replacement for Kali M1A
The perfect part to convert your Kalifornia M1A. Very tight fit on Springfield Armory target barrel. Requires very minor fitting. Initial installation requires mild tapping with nylon faced hammer coupled with firm application of the catle nut. Recommend the use of light grease on splines and threads.
A Must Buy For Your M1A
The hardest part of the install was digging through my toolboxes to find the proper Allen keys for the set screw and sight base. It only seems proper to return the M1a to it's proper form; FH with a bayonet lug. I have a brand new Springfield M1a "loaded" model that came with a neutered FH so it only seemed fitting to buy a Springfield lugged FH although there are many other brands out there. The original FH came off with zero issues as long as you take your time and have patience. I soaked my castle nut with WD-40 the night before and gave it one more light soaking prior to removal. Using Brownell's brand of castle nut pliers, all I needed to do was give it a firm tug and it broke free. The tool worked perfectly, I don't know why others had issues with it. I installed the new FH, tightened everything back up and fixed my bayonet. It was an easy and painless job. As long as you don't rush it and decide to use a hammer and punch, blow touch, heat gun, etc.. Use the proper tools and preparation and it's an easy job.
Makes the M1A rifle look a lot better!
I like the way this flash hider looks on my rifle. It was very easy to install with the castle nut pliers and a couple of hex head wrenches are all you need. Didn't take long to install.
This is the one you want...
National Match modified with the bayonet lug. Compared with a USGI component that was modified by a nationally known M1a/M14 gunsmith, its virtually identical. Perfect fit, installs easily as long as you have the correct tools. Well finished in a dark, dark "olive" type park. Perfect fit with my M6 bayonet. Highly recommended. CPORet, (USNavy, Ret)

Had to get rid of that suppressor it came with. My rifle looks great with a bayonet lug. You need a 1/16" and 7/64" allen wrenches and one of the flash suppressor wrenches. I used the brownells one. It was fine. Take your time. I read a bunch online and let mine soak in some oil overnight. It went on fine.

Thanks to the previous review here, and the reviews for the "other" NM flash suppressor, I got the right one, that includes the bayonet stud. I don't intend to use a bayonet, but it does look more "correct" and allows use of a blank firing adapter too. Anyway, thank you reviewers, for setting things straight. The primary reason for me getting this is to be able to use a bore guide. The guides only work with NM flashsuppressor, and the guide protects the crown of the muzzle.

It matches the old one
This flash suppressor with bayonet lug matches my original neutered suppressor on my Springfield M1A perfectly in color and quality. It was the least expensive one I found and fit perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Ziploc bag it came in had a sticker saying it was made in south Korea.
