FIELD STOCK CHASSIS SYSTEM FOR RUGER AMERICAN

FIELD STOCK CHASSIS SYSTEM FOR RUGER AMERICAN Reviews & Ratings

Get more accuracy out of your factory rifle by upgrading with the Field Stock. The traditionally shaped polymer stock provides comfort and warmth in cold weather. Improve accuracy with the aluminum v-block bedding and a free-floating barrel. The adjustable buttstock allows you to be more comfortable for long-range shots.

Integrated aluminum core incorporates V-Block bedding giving you a solid connection for your rifle while free floating your barrel. This allows your rifle to be more accurate shot after shot and not be affected by temperature or humidity. It's ready for any hunt or day at the range, no matter the weather.

The adjustable buttstock cheek riser and length of pull spacers allow you to look through your scope with your head in the same position every time. Find targets faster and maintain a more repeatable shooting position.

The included sling swivel studs and an M-LOK forend allow you to mount any accessory you need to get the job done. Add a sling and bipod for a backcountry hunt or set up in a blind with an ARCA rail and tripod. AICS magazine compatibility ensures you’re carrying the right amount of ammo.

Comfortable to carry long distances in the woods with a traditional stock design. The lightweight polymer is warm to the touch on cold days.

Great Affordable Stock
I purchased this stock to replace the factory Ruger American Gen II stock. I wanted to replace the factory stock, because my barrel was touching the barrel channel in several locations. The barrel channel on the field stock is really large, and will accommodate just about any barrel contour. My rifle is chambered in 6 ARC and used AR mags. I wanted a better magazine option, and this stock allowed me to switch to AICS pattern mags. The stock is well built, allows me to add attachments via MLOK, comes with adjustable length of pull, and provides a much needed adjustable cheek riser. The only 2 cons I could find with this stock is the weight, and magazine catch. The weight is slightly on the heavy side, but that's not always a bad thing. Furthermore, the magazine catch has to be removed to get to one of the action screws. Not a deal breaker, just a minor pain in the butt. I ordered my stock in black, and did a custom paint job on it. All things considered, I highly recommend this stock, and wouldn't hesitate to use this stock future rifles.

Great stock at a good price.
I love the stock. After installing the stock my group size dropped from 1.5” MOA to .5” MOA on my Ruger American predator 6.5 Creedmoor.

PERFECT SOLUTION
The MDT HUNTER is a 1st rate accuracy enhancer. The Ruger Gen 2 is accurate but the addition of the Hunter stock makes it a tac driver. The ERGOS are so much better than the competition!

Finally got it.
Great product. Not real great instructions. Yes I know it's not really difficult to pull off if you aren't a ham fisted, slightly slow mechanical dofus like me. This new positioning of my hand solves a nerve issue I've had for sometime. It'll keep me shooting. Thanks again to Brownells for a competitive price and MDT for a great product.

Good stock
Bought this for a heavy profile barreled action and I should've gotten the XRS chassis. This stock is great but not the best on a heavy barrel. Side to side motion does flex the chassis up front. Up and down it's very rigid so bag rest or in a tripod it won't contact the barrel but side to side on a bipod it could possibly contact the barrel. It's not a big issue for my uses but something to note, for heavier barrels I'd get one of the more rigid chassis. Otherwise it's great chassis for the price and proper use case. I wouldn't ask them to change it as they already make chassis' and stocks that are more rigid up front, but also have a higher price tag. So it has it's place in the MDT lineup.

Mdt could do a better job on a couple things
I like the field stock but couple of things on it - not so good. 1. The way Mdt has you insert the AI latch for Ruger American is bad - even Ruger has a better way, you mean Mdt can't equal or improve on that? Some of their latch insert pieces were missing. O BTW, magpul figured a better way too. C'mon guys! Took me an hour to get the latch installed b/c of missing parts/ inadequate design.
