FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHTS RED

FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHTS RED Reviews & Ratings

Advanced light gathering properties of fiber optic rods make maximum use of ambient light to provide a bright glow that stands out against dark backgrounds and puts you on target fast, even in low-light or high-stress situations. Fronts and rears sold separately, so you can create a custom, three-dot, fiber optic system tailored to your shooting needs. Available with red or green inserts. Front sight can also be used with Novak’s plain, wide-notch rear. Kimber and Taurus front sights are the same height as factory sights and fit factory dovetails; no machining required.

Bright and well made front sight
I bought this front sight to learn how to hand cut a dovetail on an older slide, and it was great to find one in the height (.150") that fit my application. This front sight appears to be very well constructed and did not flex, bend or deform in any way during installation. The dimensions are slightly oversized compared to the standard Novak dovetail specs (which is a good thing) so some minor fitting is required. Overall, I am very happy with this front sight and find that it is far easier to acquire that the original iron sight. Definitely recommended for anyone planning a project of their own.

Very Bright
Wanted a bright fixed sight for my 1911 build. Angle on the novak cut didn't match the cut on my slide, so I had to do some fitting.

PERFECT FIT
Bought this to replace the factory front sight on a Kimber Stainless target II in 9mm. Used the Brownells front sight punch to remove the factory and install this front Novak FO sight. VERY minor fitting required, (had to just remove the black finish from the sight and re cold blue touch up filed area. Installs snug enough to hold firmly in place without having to really use excessive force while tapping into place. Worked perfect enough for me to order and install another on a Kimber Stainless target II in 10mm. Very bright optic rod, defiantly worth the effort to replace the factory with this one for faster target acquisition and follow up shots. Very happy with the overall appearance and function of the sight! The average person CAN install this with about 30 min time and attention to detailed work!

My second set of these
This is the second set of these I am buying and I couldn't be happier, The sight picture is perfect for me and the RED Fiber Optic is the very best for my eyesight I have come up with...nothing else comes close. They install very easily as well. I will buy again if I need any more sights for a pistol.

Very Good Sight
I installed on my Colt Combat Elite 1911. Since my eyes are not a great as when I was younger, I found these a great asset for quick pick up on targets. It on required some minor filing on the dovetail. They will take a .080" fiber optic rod. I recommend this sight to all shooters that want to enhance their sight picture.

Nice and bright
Had the sights installed by a gunsmith, next time I will do it myself. Looks fairly simple to do. Outside these sights are great, the if you were to put to green led and one red led for your sights you would get an idea how bright these are. At night with a flashlight held in the off hand if you let a little bit of light, from your flashlight hit the front site you get a red led up front. I am not saying shine it on it, but hold the flashlight back far enough that some of the edge light hits the fiber. The front edge is a little "sharp" but livable, seems to shoot a little lower than the factory sight, my front is a .150 high and thinking a .160 or .170 would be better. Have shoot 50 rds of factory and 50 rds of reloads, little bit on the +P side on the reloads, no problem. If your master eye sees things less sharp than your weak eye, you may find you have a problem. They are so bright that when you concentrate on the front sight the eye with the sharpest vision will pick it up first.
