steel challenge build
Receiver was high quality and my Wiland barrel went in without a problem.
Faxon FF 22
I own 5 faxon barrels and their FF22 reciever. They all are flawless from machining to performance. I will continue to buy Faxon parts for all my builds!
Tight fit
Looks good and well made. Everything went together with ease except the barrel which is a Faxon as well and made .002 big i believe. Ended up having to freeze the barrel and heat the reciver but they went right together after that and are never coming apart. I just got a BN22 reciver and have the same fit with another Faxon barrel so its not the reciver being the wrong size like some say.

Faxon FF-22 Receiver
The machining and anodizing on the receiver are great with the exception of the barrel hole. The bolt and polymer trigger housing fit with no slop and it comes with trigger pins. I used a Kidd Barrel which are said to be .002 oversized and it loose beyond a slip fit. I also was having feeding issues and almost ran out of scope elevation adjustment. The solution I used was using ss shim stock to wrap the receiver end of the barrel to get a tap in with a rubber mallet snug fit. Look up You-tube videos for snugging up an AR-15 Barrel with shim stock. Doing this shifted point of impact up 6 inches at 50 yards and stopped feeding issues I was having. Don't be afraid to buy it, but know you may need to shim the barrel for proper function.
The receiver is whack
I love my Faxon AR-15 and 308 barrels, receivers and everything in between but the 10/22 Receiver is on the naughty list. At 50 yards, I am 5 inches off in every direction. I managed to hit where I was aiming once but I think that was an accident. The problem with this receiver is that It has too much slop no matter what manufacturers Barrel is used. I bought a Faxon receiver and a Faxon Barrel so there would not be any hiccups with the build but upon assembly I noticed the barrel didn't have that snug tight mating that the Brownells has with the same barrels that was too loose on the faxon. Hopefully Faxon will get this ironed out and fix this major flaw.
I would stay away from this one
I bought a Faxon Barrel and a Faxon Receiver. Would have thought buying a Receiver and a Barrel they would have been a nice fit. Faxon was not a lot of help. From what I could measure the barrel is machined to the MIN OD and the Receiver to the MAX ID resulting in too much play. see picture shows how much play between the barrel and receiver.
Sloppy product. Avoid. Barrel is very loose.
Avoid this receiver. I can confirm the same problem as the previous reviewer. The barrel fit is quite loose. I even had a slightly oversize Kidd barrel and it is still wobbly. There are better choices. Spend a few bucks more and get one of those.
Faxon F-22 receiver
Do not purchase mortise opening for barrel is so loose barrel wobbles around !! Faxon claims it is within Ruger specifications, yet both oem and Kidd barrels are snug in a stock receiver
