Not perfect, but not as bad as most say.
I've used a handful of these mags for a few months now, and these are not so bad in my opinion as most people say. It is a plastic magazine and it's important to remember that, it isn't heavy rigid steel, if you keep them topped off for any length of time they will start to deform and lose rounds. I was taught to leave two or three rounds out to avoid setting the spring and to swap them out every few weeks, following this method I have experienced no issues with losing rounds over time of being loaded. and so far none of these magazines have given me issues with malfunctions of any kind. I would definitely prefer a steel mag, but for a $20 magazine that's actually available during this nonsensical point in history, I have no issues with them.
It works
I only ordered one just to see how it functions. Nice tight fit in my DSA SA58. Cycles and feeds ball ammo just fine. I have not loaded mag and let sit yet to see if it will hold rounds without letting them pop out top. Time will tell if the lugs hold up, but so far no complaints. Only gave three stars due to only used it once. i would say give it a try....... only out 20 bucks...
Awful Mags
Got one of these with my FAL I ordered from DSA instead of a Metal/ Steel Mag (which I guess they don't make anymore), and I have to say, it's terrible. (I love the rifle, it's great, but holy smokes are there problems with the Mag production.) First off, the Polymer is cheap-- it's far too soft to be used in an FAL or any 7.62x51/ .308 platform rifle, the plastic shaves off every time to tried to insert or remove the Mag from the rifle (and the Mag was empty). When I loaded the Mag with PPU and Hirtenberger rounds and tried to load/ insert it into the rifle, the Mag had swelled, and was literally unable to insert and seat properly. I also noticed further heavy gouging in the Mag, and plastic shavings. Unloading or downloading the Mag was questionable too, the top curved lips of the Mag would flex, and I noticed further plastic shavings coming off on the Brass, and was concerned that the lips would crack/ break off. I now use it as a paperweight, that's about all it's good for. Do not buy or use these polymer magazines, period.
Do Not Buy FAL Metric Polymer Magazines
Nothing is great about this product! Very poor quality and really disappointed. Magazine feed lips are too flimsy and rounds will just pop-off the magazine even when just two round are loaded. Not even sure how these magazines passed DSA's quality control. Maybe DSA should take a tour at Magpul's facility -they may learn something about quality or just get out of the magazine making business and just stick with making great FN FAL receivers.
not for the RFB
Does not fit RFB....
fal metric pattern polymer magazine
failure to feed, excessive jams
Poor quality
Got two mags from dsa. Loaded each with 20 rnds federal fmj. After two weeks stored loaded both mags started releasing rounds out top of mag without being touched. When disturbed mags would expell rounds out the top of mag. Got two replacements from dsa. Both have held federal fmj ammo ok. Both would NOT retain wolf steel case fmj ammo; wolf ammo came out the top of mags after being stored 12 days loaded with 20 rnds.
