Almost works

While this slide lock lever makes it easier to take the slide down, upon reassembly the slide catches on it and you have to push it down a little so the slide will pass. I guess Engineering missed that. I ended up throwing this into my junk drawer and buying a different brand.

FOR GEN 5 ONLY

Unfortunately, I am also having the issues reported by some of the other 1 or 2 star reviewers. I cannot install the slide without pulling down on the slide lock. Sometimes the slide will bind and not go on at all, even if I pull down fully on the slide lock. There is a lot of lateral play in the slide lock; much more than my original. After doing some research, I believe this slide lock is designed for the Gen 5 pistols with the coil slide lock spring. It does barely work with my 30S (which is a Gen 3), but the fitment and function is not an improvement. Ive noticed a few key differences when comparing the new slide lock to my original one: 1) The material is thinner. This slide lock measures at .074 thick, while my original one is measuring at .082. This allows the slide lock to rotate in the frame more than the original. 2) The cutout on the bottom where the spring interfaces is much wider on this one. This is why there is more lateral play than with my original lock. This wider cutout is meant to interface with the coil spring. 3) My original lock has a more rounded edge that allows the barrel lug to push it down while installing the slide. This slide lock has almost a sharp edge, so the barrel can not push the slide lock down when installing the slide. On the plus side, this slide lock is definitely wider and I can get a good grip on it without using my fingernails. I give it 2 stars because Im sure it will work as-intended on Gen 5 pistols, but the description needs to be updated that this isnt meant for use on Gen 4 or older. I will be looking to buy another extended slide lock specifically meant for the flat-spring design.

DIMENSIONS NOT TO GLOCK SPECS

The lever works fine when removing the slide. However, when placing the slide back onto the frame, the slide is stopped when it hits the new slide stop lever. I then have to pull the lever down slightly to get the slide to go past the lever.
