Fit Perfectly
Fit my Enfield No4, 1/3 perfectly, no issues.
Baught as my backup, use as my main.
I baught this mag origanally as a backup plan for my already worn OEM mag. It went in a little stiff, and you have to mean to put one in the chamber, but I think a day or two at the range, and some minor persuasion with the right tools will loosen it up a bit. Over all it looks great, loads smooth, and give an old rifle a much needed upgrade.
Doesn't fit Savage-built No. 4 Mk1*
This magazine does not fit my Savage-built No. 4 Mk1* Enfield, nor can it be modified to fit it. The rear of the magazine is wider than the magazine well, and the magazine catch is different. The magazine appears to be well-made, but make sure it'll actually fit your rifle before buying it.
Good mag
Bought it for my No4 mk1 as I lost the other mag i had for it and it works great, but after about 4 or 5 rounds the baseplate slides forward and pops off, sending the spring, follower and all your ammo thats in the mag flying into the dirt
Barely works
I’m not sure if I received a defective unit, but I returned this magazine due to persistent reliability issues. It would only hold five rounds intermittently, and when loaded it frequently failed to feed into the chamber. The magazine physically fits multiple Enfield models I own, but unless the follower is manually depressed on an empty magazine the bolt will not close. The follower is not anti-tilt; when I did press it down it often jammed inside the body, preventing proper function. Overall this is the worst magazine I’ve ever owned.
Does not fit my enfield rifle
I have an Enfield No. 4 Mk 1, and ordered this since the spring in my original mag had lost enough life that it no longer pushed rounds up high enough for the bolt to catch them (2 out of 3 rounds would just get a scrape on the brass). This mag did NOT solve my problem. The tiny nub on the left side of the thing in the image here needs to be about a quarter inch longer, and an eighth of an inch or less higher up on the mag. It's current size and placement means that it does not fit in the rifle. When I fire the gun, the mag falls out the bottom. Some machining might fix this, but if all of these mags are like this, I don't recommend buying.
