Easy to Use
It is hard to judge how well the wipes actually work. I have no way of measuring the level of heavy metals (especially lead) on my skin after shooting, and then checking the levels after using the wipes. Obvious "dirt" (for want of a better word) is easily removed, so I'll assume other contaminants on my skin are also being taken care of. Compared to similar wipes, these seem to be the easiest to remove from the dispenser, especially when opening a new container. That alone seals the deal for me
Quick and easy
These are an excellent way to get rid of the contaminates on your hand/skin.
A must have
Ive been buying these wipes for years to clean up after range time... these hold up well and smell pleasant. This is the first time Ive bought them from Brownells, and it wont be the last! Excellent pricing, and excellent shipping.
Good for the Range Bag
Yearly OSHA testing showed I had rising lead levels. This product along with other common sense protocols got it back under control. As others noted, it effectively cleans hands and doesn't have a harsh odor.
D-Lead Skin Cleaner
I had mild lead poisoning once from drinking water from lead pipes, not firearm related. From this experience I became more conscious of limiting my heavy metal exposure. I can attest to how important it is to remove all lead contamination from your skin; lead poisoning is no fun! If you do a lot of shooting, reloading, and lead casting as I do, this product is indispensable. The product is mildly abrasive and has a pleasant smell. Make sure to wash your hands first in cold water then in hot, this way you don't let particles get caught in your pores.
works great, smells good
Cleans hands well, smells good and the lanolin leaves your hands soft. I keep a couple around and one for the range bag.
D-Wipes
I keep a container of these in my range box for cleaning my hands after shooting. I like them better than standard wipes because of the lead removers. They are indispensable for cleaning and preventing contamination before you reach soap and water.I do wish they would go to an easier dispensing lid as seen in other wipes such as some window cleaners.
Handy and good for your health too
I started using these wipes because of my firearms instructor: he'd hand them out after we'd come in from the range. They are useful because they clean your hands, not just of obvious things like powder soot, but more importantly from heavy metals. Shooters deal with metals that you really don't want to get in/on your body (e.g. lead) and these wipes remove them -- better than just soap and water. Just throw these in your range bag and you can always ensure your hands will be clean and safe before you put them by your mouth (e.g. eating, drinking, or for you smokers). As well, they're actually pretty handy for cleaning your guns. No they don't make up for a proper break down cleaning, but a quick field strip and wipe down with these can help manage build-up when you don't have time to do a full cleaning on your gun.
