Great ammo!
Extremely accurate out of my Ruger 450 Bushmaster. Every deer I’ve shot, never went more than 60 yards! I would highly recommend it!! On top of that, Brownells shipping is fast!
Puts everything down
I’ve had my .450 for 10 years and have shot about everything with it. Big mature bull bison 2,000 lbs+ 159 yards. Heart shot the bullet broke ribs on both sides and was in the hide of opposite side. Bull didn’t move. Shot many hogs 250 lbs+ pick shot puts them down. Whitetail deer don’t move. Oryx at 150 yards in the lungs ran 10 yards. I love this round and this bullet is all I shoot.
Hornady... 'Nuff said.
I've been loading my own ammo for many years. When developing loads, the performance of Hornady factory ammo is the benchmark that I try to achieve. When I hunt, I only use Hornady ammo or my own hand loads (loaded with Hornady bullets of course). I have never been disappointed by any Hornady products I have used.
Tack driving round
While attempting to wring out the accuracy of my new hunting rifle (an MSR in .450 Bushmaster) I tried several different loads from several different manufacturers. While the rifle shot all of them well Hornady seemed to be the cream of the crop. The longest range at my gun club is only a hundred yards and at the end of my session I was clover leafing the bullseye. I am anxious to get to a longer range to explore it's limitations.
Tack driving round
After testing a handful of various manufacturer's .450 ammunition I found the most accurate showing in my gun to be Hornady's Custom and Black versions of the 250 grain round. I contacted Hornady to determine if there were any differences between the two and the POC stated there were none except packaging. I'm not sure that is entirely correct as comparing the two rounds there may be a difference in the primer (these old eyes could be fooling me). Despite that both rounds performed stellarly with cloverleaf shaped groups at 100 yards. No failure to feed or extract. Price was competitve and with a discount coupon was able to get it delivered to my door cheaper than I could have bought it at my local sporting goods store. Right item, right price, on time. Can't wait to get to the woods this season, with my first modern sporting rifle (Ruger AR), and chase around the elusive whitetail.
Good Stuff
It goes bang and leaves HUGE holes right where you're aiming. What else is there to say?
