CAN'T MAR™ 1911 AUTO BUSHING WRENCH Reviews & Ratings

The Brownells Can't Mar™ 1911 Bushing Wrench is a must for every 1911 owner and gun shop. The double ended design removes even the tightest bushings on standard 1911 and officer models. It’s made from tough, virtually unbreakable ABS polymers. Unlike other synthetic wrenches, the Can't Mar™ Wrench has more thickness and heft. It easily carries in the pocket or a field kit.

The CAN'T MAR™ 1911 AUTO BUSHING WRENCH is well-received for its ability to prevent scratching on firearms and for its light weight. However, many users express concerns about the durability, noting that it wears out quickly, especially with tighter bushings. While it's affordable and handy for light use, those with high-use needs may prefer an aluminum alternative for better longevity.
What Reviewers Are Saying

Value for Money
50%
The wrench is often praised for its affordability, making it a reasonable choice for occasional users. However, some users express that while low cost is appealing, the rapid wear-and-tear may not justify the price in the long run, especially for those needing a more reliable tool.
Ease of Use
40%
Many users appreciate the lightweight design of the wrench, which makes it convenient to store and use. However, a few users encountered issues with fit compatibility on different models, which affected their overall experience.
Material Concerns
55%
While the lack of marring on surfaces is a significant advantage, the softness of the material is frequently criticized. Users note that despite its intended purpose, the wrench's structure can deform, leading to concerns about its practicality in tougher situations.

it is ok, nothing special
the plastic is chewed up by the recoil spring plug if it is checkered

Doesn't fit
The openings are too small (short) to fit my Springfield Armory Inc. target model. Also, to material is too soft, it peels off if I force it onto the bushing. Not worth the money.

Doesn't mar your pistols.
This tool does what it says but is a little on the soft side for tight bushings. I tore mine up pretty good when fitting a Wilson Combat bushing into my wife's Colt Officers model 1911. The wilson bushing is very tight fitting(good, good, good) after fitting for accuracy. I've recently up graded to the aluminum version.

It works but has limits
The good thing about this plastic wrench is that it doesn't mar the finish, and of course, you probably won't misplace it. If you have a tight, accurized bushing, as I do, it won't last more than a few times before it gets chewed up. But for the price, buy a few of them.
