Works Flawlessly
I purchased 2 of these magazines, one for my Ruger 7717 , and one for my Ruger Precision Rifle 22 magnum. I have fired better than 100 rounds through both rifles and they have worked flawlessly. The local groundhogs probably wish they didnt work as well. Feeds all ammo I have, CCI, Federal, A17, Hornady.
BX 15
Just returned from a PD hunt in MT, the 3 BX 15s I just bought were jam free, more than I can say for the originals, of course they may be in need of cleaning. Shot over 750 rds no problem with A17, Winchester had misfires & jams not the magazines problem. CCI & Federal worked too. Easy to load, easy to change mags too. Using a 10/22 mag modified to 17 HMR.

The three magazines I ordered cam and shipping was fast. Was pleased to receive them until I opened the packaging.....The smell that all three had smelled exactly like Scott's Lawn Fertilizer. These were brand new in the original Ruger packaging. I had to get them out of the house as the smell from them permeated whatever room they were in........... Put them out in the garage for a week to hopefully air out.......... I know carpet off gasses once it is installed but these mags were bad. After about 8 days in the garage and then another 8 hours out in the sun they were less horrible smelling....... I ended up washing them with soap and water drying them and then put outside in the sun for a couple hours to make sure they were dry inside and out. I checked the Ruger mag that came with the rifle I had purchased and it had no smell............. I did contact Ruger directly to see if they had any other reports of this... The response was no other reports of this. So not sure what the deal is but wonder if I am the only one who got ones that smell like lawn fertilizer........Again this was not just one but all three........ Other than the smell they worked great in the new rifle.
needs improvement
I knew what this mag was going into my purchase. If you just want a mag that's easier to swap out with a few extra rounds in it this one works. My issue is I don't understand why they wouldn't make it a double stack. This thing is huge compared to the 9 round mags and you only get an extra 6 rounds. this could easily fit 20-30 rounds in it. I know it is hard to make a double stack rimfire magazine, but personally I kind of wish I would have just bought another 9 rounder.
