RED DOT SIGHT MOUNT FOR VORTEX VIPER/VENOM/BURRIS FITS 1911 Reviews & Ratings

EGW’s Red Dot sights are meant to be installed from the left to the right (with the muzzle facing forward). The dovetail has a progressive taper to allow for easier install.

Simply remove the rear sight on your gun and replace it with their mount in order to mount your Vortex Viper/Venom, Burris FastFire, or Docter red-dot sight. You can take our mount off and replace your rear sight at any time. Mounting hardware included.

Installation Instructions:

Remove the rear sight
Install the EGW Sight Mount in the dovetail
Tighten set screw (if applicable)
Place the red dot sight on the EGW Sight Mount
(placing a small piece of paper between the red dot sight and the sight mount will make for easier removal and will keep Loctite off of the red dot sight.)
Apply blue Loctite to the provided mounting screws
Torque mounting screws to 15in/lbs
2 Button Head Cap Screws - Provided for Vortex Viper and Venom Sights
2 Flat Head Cap Screws - Provided for Burris FastFire and Docter Sights
The screws that are included with this mount require a 5/64'' allen wrench for installation.
Modification of your firearm may nullify the manufacturer's warranty.
This product should be installed and checked by a qualified gunsmith.

Adapter base fits “iron” rear sight dovetails for easy mounting of a Burris Docter or similar red dot sight with a hole pattern that fits a Burris Docter base. No modifications to slide required. Adjustable hex-head screw ensures a secure lock in the dovetail; includes two hex-head cap screws to secure sight to base. Models available to fit Novak and Bo-Mar rear sight dovetails.

SPECS: 7075 T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodized, black. Will not accept J-Point/Optima red dot sights.

well made and highly recommend

Bought this to put on a Para Expert full size 1911 but the Para has a slightly proprietary cut. I had to modify (aka file, test, file, test, file some more...) the sight mount dovetail to fit the Para slide. It was a labor of love and I left much of my new Grace USA brass (from the brass punches) on the mount as I pounded the sight mount in/out of the dovetail as I tested the fit. The sight mount held up well to all the adjustment (filing) and hearty "pounding" it took to install on the Para slide. Well done EGW for making a quality product that held up to the "fitment" required for the Para.

Strong and sturdy

Put this on a RIA 5 slide. Drifted old sight out right to left looking from rear. Widest point of EGW dovetail was about .010 wider than the rear sight so I started filing there. The EGW mount needed a bit of filing and trial and error fitting. By looking at the gap could see where material needed to be removed. Took about ten fittings. Ended up with a good snug fit and very sturdy mount. Have to take your time. I installed another EGW mount into an Auto Ordnance slide with the military sight cut and it required no filing at all. The Novak cut is larger so naturally more area to fit. Great mount both of them
