I had purchased this for a build I was doing. When I finished it and I sighted it in, I noticed the rear sight was twisted to the left and did not sit flush to the receiver/handle. I called and talked to a gunsmith about this. He stated that they are all like this the (ones he has seen) and that sending back for a replacement is like 50/50 chance that you would not get one back with the same problem. He also said that Aero is the company that makes this for them. If I had a chance to purchase this again, I would not waste my money on it; I would rather build one.

I initially gave this thing a good review. I am gonna have to change that as I am returning the upper. The rear sight is loose and binds. The bayonet lug does not accept a bayonet. The handguards are too loose around the delta ring causing the handguards to have groose sloppy rear/aft movement. The spring that tensions the dust cover would not remain in place and easily popped out of position leaving the dust cover loose. This upper is soooo close to being good. Just a little more and it'd be great.

I was initially very excited for this upper, but ultimately my experience fell very short. Right off the bat I noticed the rear sight drum was missing a screw (the one used for the elevation drum). This problem is easily fixed but shows that QC may be falling short of where it should be. Another thing I noticed was while its advertised as "this upper has NO M4 feed ramps," the barrel does indeed have M4 feed ramps, while the upper does not. In my experience this is an undesirable combination that did lead to feeding issues with certain magazines. I would have rather them use a proper rifle barrel extension, or cut M4 feed ramps into the upper. The OEM handgaurds are subpar, Colt handguards are noticeably better in quality. BCG material is not listed in the description or marked on the unit. The finish on BCG is very grey, more so than other phosphate coated BCGS I've used. Overall I wasn't impressed with the look of the BCG. Barrel as a stand alone piece was actually pretty good! Marked "LUTH AR 5.56 1/7", the front sight was straight and not excessively canted at all; Minor adjustment was needed on the rear. I'm overall very happy with the barrel as a stand alone part. This upper seemed very minorly overgassed (compared to a colt AR15A4), not excessively though. All in all, this upper brings horrible value for the asking price. ($749 at time of writing). Valuing the barrel assembly at $300 seems fair. A2 birdcage at around $10 . The upper receiver likely holds a value of around $150. I'm not convinced the BCG is worth a penny over $100. Gas tube is a $10-$30 dollar part. Handguards that are included are worthless due to the quality. Overall this should only cost about $590-$600, the laziness in BCG, handguard, and upper receiver/barrel extention (regarding M4 feed ramp) make this a dud for me. I would much sooner buy an alternative product or build my own.

Handguards are cheap junk, and belong on an airsoft, not on a real rifle. The delta ring and spring do not apply enough tension on the guards either, as in the guards move back towards the receiver extremely easy, almost to the point of releasing from the upper. You can easily remove the handguards with one hand, no wheres near enough tension in the spring.
