Really won’t work on my AR. Not really a flattop. Well made.

This is the best addition to the AR
I finally got tired of hunting for brass and loosing brass when hunting and target shooting ! I am a reloader and want my fired brass so for me the TacStar was the perfect answer. I read how the other brands would melt and drop the brass but the TacStar doesn't have that problem for me.
Extremely Impressed!
I bought this out of desperation. I had two previous Caldwell products. One was this giant butterfly net that you had to set up on a tripod. Useless. And it didn't catch any brass! The second was this thing you attach to the hand with an elastic strap. Equally useless. This Tacstar catcher is practically perfect. Easily attaches to the top Picattiny rail, and holds the bag secure and in the correct position. Best of all, the bag is made out of sturdy canvas, so a hot casing won't burn a hole through the netting, like the last two. Thanks to Tacstar for making a great product!!
good if it fits
It's a nice catcher but mine needed to mount in between the scope mounts to line up correctly so since most of my AR's have 1 piece rings and mounts it will not line up with the port.
Need extra clips
Works great at the gun range once it is adjusted and attached. It saves time looking for brass and prevents dents from hitting the concrete. However, the set up is tedious. I have not been able to buy more clips to attach to other guns to save setup time.
Tacstar hardware issues
The design and part quality is good but the tapping and hardware fit is poor. I will have to retap for size up screw
