Unusable as shipped
As others have noted, the sear jig pin is completely unable to secure the sear as shipped - there are a number of workarounds, but for this price you shouldn't have to fix the tool in order to use it. In addition, the hex bolt securing the sear jig stands proud of the surface of the jig, interfering with the positioning of the sear. The height adjustment in slot b is very coarse, and in slot c it's nonexistant.
This may be a well designed tool, but it's poorly executed. I'l also note that it's not the tool that I'm familiar with from Bob's classes.
Unusable instructions
The instructions were so poor the item was unusable. I sent it back for a full refund despite needing a good sear tool.
Big let down....
Sear pin pulled from block when nut was tightened.
Underwhelming
The sear doesn’t hold in black it’s more of a nuisance then aid
Not helpful.
Certainly not worth the price,
Incomplete Design
In theory this jig should work well. However the pin, as mentioned by others, is a problem. I wasn't able to tighten it enough to prevent the sear from moving. So I ruined a couple of parts as they moved during stoning before I gave up on using the jig. After reading some of the other reviews I may try securing the sear stud with a set screw or pin - which is how the jig should have been made to begin with. This is the first Brownells tool that I thought was poorly done. For a hobbyist I would not recommend this jig. I would instead just pay for a trigger job by a reputable smith or buy drop in components.
