Great ammo at an affordable price

Great ammo for my 6 arc gas gun. Its not match ammo but it preforms pretty close to the Hornandy TAP ammo I usually run, great ammo for a range day and getting your setup dialed in.

Good looking ammo

I haven’t shot any of this yet, but buy it whenever it’s on sale. I have two uppers ready to break in, a 20” and a 24”. According to Hornady’s published data, you can expect around 2645 fps out of a 20” barrel, around 2585 fps from an 18”, and around 2515 fps from a 16”. That’s still 1475 ft-lb of muzzle energy from the 16” barrel. Significantly more than a 5.56 from a 20” barrel, plus a much higher BC than a 5.56 bullet in 55 or 62 gr.

Had it when no one else did.

Brownells had it when no one else did. Im building my rifle now and when the barrel comes back from being colored to match the rest of the rifle Ill be at the range. Ill update thoughts on performance, use, reliability, accuracy etc then. Just pleased I could find ammo from Brownells.

Accurate precise ammunition

Hornady black 105 bthp ammunition performs very well. Over 100 rounds through a 20" Ballistic Advantage barrel with superb results. 3/4" groups from the beginning. The once fired cartridge cases all weigh within a 2 grain range. With the use of the deflector brake, the fired cases are not damaged during ejection. 2600fps with ES of 33 and SD of 13 from the 20" BA barrel (AR15) with factory ammo is not bad at all. Expect even better numbers from a bolt action. 830 yard shots in 10mph wind with consistent hits makes me happy. 1000yards is definatly possible as the bullet does not go sub sonic until 1100 on a 2700 DA day here in the midwest. Usng the fired cases to assemble high quality hand loads has produced outstanding results of 2700fps from the 20" barrel and group sizes continue to shrink down to 1/2". Cartridge cases at 5 times fired, primer pockets remain tight and cases have only been trimmed once by .006". Annealed at the 4th firing. I approached this project with scepticacism thinking it's just another gimmick that won't live up to the hype, I WAS WRONG. Hornady really has put in the work to make the 6ARC an incredibly capable cartridge. Accuracy and precision from the AR15 platform, AMAZING! Thank you Hornady and Brownells.

Very accurate

Very consistent groups, trajectory surprised me, it is better than my 224 Valkyrie, at 400 6 is 28" drop and 224 is 37" drop. The powder they are using is very dirty, after 20 rounds was having trouble with function. When I took the bolt apart to clean had to scrape carbon off with a knife. This is a new build with Shilen barrel and head spaced bolt.

Customer service is great!

I had an incorrect order shipped and received, after reaching out to Brownells customer service reps along with email communications the ammo ordered was on backorder, and returned the incorrect ammo. It took a little while however, its looks a lot better.
