BIG BOSS II RELOADING PRESS

BIG BOSS II RELOADING PRESS Reviews & Ratings

REDDING BIG BOSS II RELOADING PRESS

Heavy-duty cast iron single-stage press features the largest frame opening and useable ram stroke of any press in its class. Handles all your reloading needs from small handgun cases to the big rifle magnums. The 36° offset O-frame with a generous 4½" high opening offers superb ease of access. Offset ball handle for super-smooth operation and maximum leverage. The steel bushing for 7⁄8"-14 dies can be replaced with a bushing for 1"-14 dies (available separately). To use 1¼"-12 dies, simply remove the bushing entirely. Features the same Spent Primer Collection System used on Redding’s T-7 Turret and UltraMag presses. Spent primers automatically drop through the 1" diameter heavy ram and down into a flexible plastic tube that holds hundreds of primers for easy disposal.

Strong like Bull
This is my second Redding press, the first one being a Redding T-7 turret and now a single stage Big Boss II. I picked up this single stage to load some rifle cartridges and to do alot of deprime / resize brass work on it. Very well built press with the ability to use Reddings tube primer system on either model. It has a 1" ram and heavy duty on the bench. One other reason, was that you can remove top bushing on press and screw in the Hornady LNL bushing to use the LNL quick die adapters instead of unscrewing & unscrewing & unscrewing and so on and so forth to change individual dies. Don't like the handle, replace it with a Inline Fabrication ergo roller arm. Last of all, it has the 3 mt. holes on frame to give a tight fit to the bench!!!

Very nice heavy press!
Very nice heavy press, finish is very good and the casting is really clean, machining on steel parts is great, no pot metal or aluminum at all, NO slop in the ram or linkage. Ran the primer tube into a bottle, so far it works fine, occassionally you loose one but it works better than other systems I've experienced. A little lube and it is smooth as silk, have used other "green" presses almost exclusively (I do have a cheap red press too) and by far this is a much classier piece of kit than either.

MADE IN THE U.S.A.!
This was bought to replace a 1982 RCBS RC II press. It is the standard on which all "O" frame presses should be judged by. SOLID Ductile Iron cast frame, Large opening for long / Magnum cases. Offset frame allows easy viewing of Ram. Drop through Ram for spent primers, collecting in a Tube on the rear of the Ram. A "on the press" priming system that actually works as good or better than some hand primers. 3 mounting holes. A better engineered linkage system eliminates most "side loading" of the ram. I added a LED light system to it and it is the best I have used in my 35 years of handloading. Should have bought one years ago, but tried to stay faith full to 'Big Green". They lost that when they decided to outsource to China! Cudo's to Redding for employing AMERICAN workers to the sport we all love

Heavily Built Press
The Redding Big Boss 2 is a heavily built single stage press. The press action is a bit stiff out of the box, after applying 10w-30 motor oil to all pivot points it became very smooth. Accepts standard shell holders.

Nice Press
I had an older RCBS and it was good press, but I needed something that opened up a bit bigger. This did what I needed and the offset angle on the opening is helpful. I also like the primer catch tube system.

Unbeatable Single Stage Press
The press has zero, did I say Zero slop! The press is the absolute smoothest press I've ever used. The ergonomics are perfect. The primer catching system is excellent. Sure every once in a while a primer pops out. Big deal! I also got the auto primer system and right out of the tube it worked perfectly. I've seen reviews stating that the auto prime system just didn't work. I don't know what those people are doing but they must be the problem and not the equipment. This is a buy it once and forget it piece of equipment. It will last a couple of lifetimes. And don't forget it's made in the USA.

Great Press!
All around great press, Compared to the other green one I have it just seems a little smoother. No slop, and I like the big opening and angle. As far as the primer catch, yeah, you lose a few here and there, no biggie... If you clean the primer discharge hole in the ram periodically it works just fine, I take out the plug and just let 'em fall in a bucket. It takes care of every caliber I reload for from 9mm to 7mm Mag. I've had it for about 6 yrs now and have loaded thousands of rounds and have have had no issues.

A quality piece of equipment.
Very well made and constructed. The perfect unit for the average or even more skilled reloader. It will last a life time or more easily. It was a bit stiff at first, so I also loosened the lower nuts just a hair like Doulos, ( one of the reviewers said ) and it now works silky smooth!!! I use it on .22-250, .270win, 7mm rem & 300 savage. Lots of room for the longer calibers bullets.

Great Press
I primarily use this press for re-sizing and de-priming .223. The press is solid as they come with no play, yet smooth as silk. Unlike other reviews, my only issue is with the spent primer collection. It seems 1 out of 15 primers ends up on the floor. I also took the plug out of the primer collection tube and ran the tube into a large jar to collect the spent primers, that eliminates emptying the tube periodically.

Heavy Duty
Wanted another single sage press and chose this one. High quality unit. A lot of access room to the shell plate. Should have no problem with almost any cartridge. At first the stroke felt very tight but loosening the lower link nuts a hair made it smooth as butter. The more I have used it the more I like it. The primer catcher is the BEST. Such a simple design too. It catches everything. No more primers and primer ash everywhere. Made in the USA and a lifetime warranty from a great company to boot. Probably the last single stage press I'll ever need.
