ARKANSAS STONE SET Reviews & Ratings

Carbon steels just seem to polish best with a genuine Arkansas stone and the four shapes in the kit have proven to be the most useful in the gun shop. The edges are nice and clean, making them an excellent choice for flat trigger and sear faces plus most other gunshop fitting chores. Fine cut, white hard Arkansas. x 4' Square; 1/4' diameter Round; 1' (2.5cm) x 4' Knife tapers
from 1/4' thick to 1/16' (1.6mm) thick.

Nice!
Excellent quality stone set, the various shapes and sizes make these very useful, well worth the price, go easy when using them because they can break easily. I'd also recommend using hone oil to keep them from clogging up. Again... Excellent!

2nd set
The 1st set (after 15 years) got broken/lost. Yes, like ANY stone, they are easily broken, especially if dropped. I have used these for trigger work, as well as general machine work like honing cutting tools etc. They work very well for polishing any steel surface. Like many abrasives, don't use them on Aluminum. One Note: These seem to load up fairly easily, then stop or slow down the cutting action. A trick from the mold and die business, store the stones in kerosene, it helps to wash the metal products out of the pores of the stones. That way they stay cleaner and cut better and longer.

High quality stones
These are high quality hard Arkansas honing stones. They are provided in the most common and useful profiles. Take proper care of them. They are fragile. Store them in the supplied case. Quality tools are not cheap.

Great stones
Great stone set, the only caution is they are extremely fragile. Simply drop one and they will break, trust me on this one! Other than that, for the money, you can go wrong. The size is just right and they perform better than expected. Really great stones!
