New colt upper. Cage coded not C marked
I received mine 10/21/24 new condition. The photos on the website showed a “C” stamped. The one I received is cage code 13629, Square forge. M4 on the front hand guard face. Great upper but would be nice to know what exact colt upper your buying.

I read the later reviews and noticed a lot of complaints that this upper wasn't marked. Not only was the finish superb, but it had "13629" not roll marked, but engraved in the same spot. I am stupid about that and glad it's there. it also had m4 stamped up front, which I'll likely never see. if this is what we're ordering and getting each time rock on! excellent product.
Colt Flat Top Upper
Colt's website directed me to Brownells for factory replacement parts. That's good enough for me since both have been around for a few years. I was mildly disappointed it didn't have the "C" on the receiver, but it does have the Colt part number engraved on it next to the keyhole shaped cage code. Assembly went very smoothly with the use of one barrel shim. Torqued in at about 45 ft/lbs. I got the scope dialed in and took it to the range Saturday and it operates perfectly. Since I'm closing in on 68 yrs old and have a cataract in my right aiming eye I'm very happy with the results. I make my own targets because they're easier for me to see.
New Production
Cage code with a square forge marking. Great news, the cage code was not the dot matrix but cut and engraved nicely into the receiver. Finish was unmarred and top notch. If you need a quality upper, or in need of a Colt, this new production is a good batch

The one I received is a new production, stamped with cage code and Brass Aluminum Forging. Forward assist and dust cover function much smoother than economical uppers that have parts that sometimes stick.

I ordered this it and was lost in the mail for a week. When I reported it to Brownells they immediatly sent another on its way. Item is brand new in factory wrap and not a mark on it. It matches my HBAR Target perfectly and works flawlessly. Brownells and their customer service are five star all the way!
