Glad I bought the parts kit, everything went in properly. Did discover that they must use different size takedown pins, because the lower from my 308 AR-10 would not mate to the Aero Precision M5E1 upper and the ones in this kit fit perfect.

M5 Parts Kit
Not sure if Aero corrected the issues other people were describing or if they just put their build together incorrectly but mine worked great. Great quality and had all the parts I expected. No issues with the mag release like others had mentioned. I wouldn't have a problem recommended this kit to a friend.
Great AR 10 Lower parts kit.
Great parts kit. Did not want the fire control of a mil spec gun since I was using an after market trigger and grip on my gun anyway.
A must-have to build on a M5 Lower
The Aero Precision M5 lower receiver is beefier than the normal AR-10 lower, and Aero has produced a specialized parts kit to address this. The pivot and takedown pins are longer, the bolt catch is heavier, and the mag release button is longer. The parts are top quality and well-finished. The bolt catch is put in place with a threaded pin you screw in with an allen key, rather than a roll pin you hammer in...a nice touch. The mag release could be thicker on the left side...it doesn't fit flush with the surface of the receiver. If you are building on an M5 receiver, you need this part set. Brownell's, or Aero Precision should include them with the receiver, IMO.
Extended Mag Button
Kit was fine as is. Bolt catch is a little beefier for 308 than normal 223 bolt catch. Especially liked extended mag release button, nice touch.
Great kit but.....
This is a great kit for those who do not want or need the fire control group. Parts are great and perfect for the 308 build. I only have one complaint and that is it still has only the old style pin for the bolt catch lever. The newer lowers use the threaded pin which is a much better design. Now I have to find a threaded pin to complete the build. I didn't pick up on this initially or I would have just ordered the threaded pin. AP needs to included the threaded pin in this kit. I still highly recommend the kit and will buy it again but AP needs to include that one extra part.

I should have listened. I don't know if someone at Aero is just throwing random parts in the boxes, but for an "extended magazine release button", its too short short for the Aero M5 lower I have. So much for getting it right the first time by only buying Aero.
