The ATLAS R-ONE is the newest addition to the Aero Precision Handguard lineup. Machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum, the R-ONE line of handguards are designed with size and weight in mind, providing the perfect handguard for your lightweight build. Our proprietary ATLAS attachment system is a durable and dependable mounting platform, maintaining a slim profile while still providing the strength and stability customers have grown to love from Aero Precision handguards.

ATLAS

The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation.

All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard.

ATLAS Handguards are designed to match seamlessly with Aero’s M5E1 Threaded Upper Receivers. However, they may not be compatible with billet upper receivers due to indexing tabs. Save when you buy them as a combo.

PLEASE NOTE: These handguards do not come with a wrench. A standard armorers wrench will work with all M5 ATLAS Handguards.

Great handguard

Great design, fit and finish and overall quality. It does require more attention to detail than some other hand guards, but it's extremely sturdy and looks amazing. One of the best on the market.

Easy install. Mated up nicely on my STAG 10.

Barrel Nut

Aero's M5 platform may limit what handguards are available for use. I purchased this handguard as a result. The Aero barrel nut design requires either thicker or more shims due to the spacing of the groves for gas tube travel into the receiver. The five shims that come with the handguard were not sufficient.

Spins like a top

As a WA resident I always gotta give my gun money to Aero but this handguard was a huge letdown on range day. Regardless how much I reef down the screw, the handguard always rotates back and forth. Buy the Gen 2 enhanced model with the anti-rotation tabs and you're set.
