My factory barrel was terrible accuracy wise. I called a lot of barrel makers and was told they don't make a barrel that fits this rifle. Sig told me it is proprietary and only their barrels will fit. I ordered this barrel and spec'ed it out. This rifle is DPMS/LR308 pattern with a AR10 1-7/16 x 18 tpi barrel nut. The OEM bolt headspaced just fine with this barrel. I only had to rebend the gas tube to fit a lower profile Faxon adjustable gas block I had installed. Gas port size on this barrel is .093", factory barrel gas port is .087". Factory barrel accuracy 3-5" groups at 100 yards. Criterion barrel has been 1-1.75" using all the same ammunition. I am certain it will do better when I get some calmer days to shoot on.

This barrel is far more accurate than I am! My first 3 shot group out her was a clover leaf at 100 yards. I shot 80 rounds in about 30 minutes and all groups were 1 moa, with the exception of an occasional flyer. Heat did not affect it at all. I am very pleased with this barrel.

I have the Criterion 18” M118 LR Hybrid 1:10 Rifle Gas Nitride Stainless Steel barrel in my custom Aero Precision M5-E1 and it shoots sub-1 MOA with a variety of factory match ammunition; the best being 0.468 MOA with Lapua Scenar-L 175gr. Open Tip Match (Mfr.#GB-550). That’s with my sixty-plus years-old eyes and a Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-15x56mm scope. If I was in my prime, had a 25x (or more) scope and handloaded to find the bullet/powder combination that it liked best, it would probably do even better; but I am quite happy with sub 1/2 MOA, especially with a semi-automatic rifle.

I wanted an accurate barrel that was still relatively lightweight for use on a 1-10x power equipped AR-10. My goal for the rifle was that it could be used for hunting as well as tactical style shooting. Criterion is well known for their high quality match barrels and I've used them for other projects in the past. I've had this barrel for two years now and its been satisfying. With 168 grain tipped sierra matchkings and 42 grains of H4895 I consistently get under 1 MOA from this rifle from a rest. My preferred hunting load is 150 grain Hornady SST's. Gives spectacular terminal performance on whitetails. Groups open up to around 1.5 MOA... which is perfectly acceptable. A good barrel, I expect to serve for many years.

This barrel has not be fussy on ammunition. Right out of the box it produced sum MOA groups with all three cheap factory brands run through it. Being nitrided inside and out it ate both steel and brass cased rounds without complaint. The platform is built on Aero Precision receivers, a Brownells bolt carrier group and a CMC two stage match trigger. Name the firearm Rayna since it was assemble by my own hands from component I selected.

Target shooting up to 1000 yds. its is very accurate with my hand loads .560 average groups at 100 yds.

I got this barrel last year and can say this barrel is way more accurate than I am. I only put about 1k rounds of various brands through it and it easily spat out milsurp and match grade ammo accurately without any problems. At my current level, I can consistently achieve 1 moa with 5 shot groups at 100 yards using a bdc style scope (primary arms) while mounted on a bipod. With a better optic and shooter it can easily achieve sub-moa. The finish on the barrel is nice and sleek from the nitride and holds up well against being thrown around and rapid fired. One con I will say about the barrel is that the feed ramps are a bit sharp and will leave marks on the brass. The marks aren't deep enough to affect the performance and the bullet itself is unaffected by this. To get rid of this problem I just fired a couple hundred more rounds until it stopped appearing. All in all, this is a great barrel to have for a dmr without treading into the high tier price of other high quality barrels. Plus you can snagged it for a good price with the deals on brownells.

Bought this to replace a BA barrel which wouldn't group better than 2". After 200 rounds or so, I can't get this barrel to group much better than 2" either. I had read positive reviews about the accuracy of Criterion barrels, but that has not been the case for me. Also at $370 this barrel is quite expensive. Additionally I have had some problems getting my Aero Precision AR10 to cycle reliably with this barrel and its rifle length gas tube. It won't lock back on an empty magazine with 175 grain ammo and is iffy with 168 grain. Removing a weight from the buffer seemed to help.

The barrel is of high quality and a great buy. The issue i have is that in your description it says the gas block should be a .750. That is false! The .750 gas block i purchased will not fit. After looking on criterions home site i found that the correct size gas block was .875. Really don't like false descriptions that lead me to buy noncompatable parts.

Maybe I got a dud, but I can't get this barrel to shoot better than 2 moa with match ammo. Might be me, but I doubt it. I have 100 yds range in my back yard and almost 40 years experience. I've used AR barrels from manufacturers, they guaranteed moa and delivered.
