AR-308 INTEGRATED FOLDING LOWER RECEIVER Reviews & Ratings

Introducing the Brownells exclusive IFLR-10 (Integrated Folding Lower Receiver). The 17 Design & Manufacturing IFLR-10 Stripped Lower Receiver is the perfect base for your AR 308 build. Additional features:

  • Upper tensioning screw- allows user to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower through the use of a nylon tipped tensioning set screw in the grip tang of the receiver.
  • Flared magwell angle- Wider angles in the magwell allow a more flared feel without increasing the width/footprint of the lower receiver.

Reviews Summary
The AR-308 Integrated Folding Lower Receiver boasts an innovative design, but many users report significant fitment issues and machining defects. Reviewers emphasize the need for specific buffer tubes and modifications for optimal use. While some appreciate its folding mechanism, quality control appears inconsistent, leading to frustration among builders.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Fitment and Machining Issues
60%
A significant number of reviewers highlight serious problems with the fitment of the magwell and other components, indicating poor machining quality. Many had to make alterations to ensure parts fit correctly, which detracted from their overall experience with the product.
Buffer Tube Compatibility
55%
Several users pointed out that the product does not work with standard carbine buffer tubes. A majority recommend using a rifle A2 buffer tube or extended versions for proper functionality, suggesting a lack of clarity in the product's compatibility information.
Folding Mechanism Quality
45%
While the folding feature of the lower receiver is appreciated by some customers, others noted that its robust appearance is overshadowed by the underlying fit and performance issues, leading to a mixed perception of this aspect of the design.
Quality Control Concerns
50%
Many reviewers expressed disappointment with the overall quality control of the receiver. Issues such as chipped finishes and inconsistent color matching between the upper and lower parts indicate a lack of thorough quality assurance processes.
Modification Needs
70%
Multiple reviews indicate that significant modifications are often necessary to get the receiver functioning properly. This has led to a frustrating experience for builders, who must invest extra time and effort to make the product usable.

Really poor machining
This thing could have been really cool but you can't even put a mag in it because the mag well is so poorly machined. I've been filing away the bumps in the mag well for about 20 minutes and now a mag fits, doesn't drop free yet because the side to side fit didn't get finished on the cnc to flat either. This is the worst lower receiver I've ever seen and I've probably built around 30-40 of these. I'm not returning it because I had already started filing when I realized just how bad it is. Not only the lack of qc, the buffer it comes with is a carbine length buffer not a lr/ar 308 buffer which is shorter which means it won't work with standard milspec extensions which means that it wasn't even thought of, just gave their customers the ar-15 buffer, A real shame. No wonder they're out of business.

Flawed Product
Had the same issues as previous customers regarding the bolt catch channel, normal 308 bolt catches won't fit. As far the buffer tubes, I found the best one to use is the Spikes Tactical .308 buffer tube, it is long enough to work with the proprietary buffer and is longer then a standard carbine buffer tube!

Doesn't work with carbine buffer and mis
First, the Q&A section of this product says that this will work with a standard carbine buffer. That is not true it will only work with an A2 tube or a specialty extended carbine buffer tube I had to order an 8 inch buffer. The buffer that comes with this is not a carbine 308 buffer aka short buffer. Second, as mentioned in a previous review I also had to machine the bolt catch so it would fit this lower. Finally, the magwell is not machined out enough. When I put in a 25rnd Magpul magazine after slapping the mag to seat in enough to engage the mag catch the magazine became stuck. When I tried to remove it I strained my shoulder. I tried a DPMS factory metal magazine and it was also very tight. I found that my Magpul 10rnd mag has the best fit.
