nice product
it worked perfectly on my pencil barrel. Why didnt someone make this long ago.

Works as is supposed to
The only issue with this is with the handguard cap Colt had on my department's Commandos not the gas block itself. The factory handguard cap had a short ledge preventing the block from sitting flush on the cap. The factory front sight post was recessed to accommodate the cap. Once we replaced the caps it performed as advertised.

Tight fit, quality craftsmanship
This gas block worked perfectly for me, and I love the 4 set screws on bottom. They go in at an angle and all four of them provide a tight lock onto the barrel. I would have given it 5 stars, but the rail didn't line up with the upper receiver rail. It's about a half inch lower so you won't get the mono-rail look if you're adding a free float to your setup.

good product
Fit nicely however it would be better if made from steel set screws do not grip barrel very well and after rapid fire it moves forward suggest drilling shallow holes for the set screws in barrel to keep it from moving. Works great and looks good did everything I hoped it would do.

Good block for the money.
We have used these a few times for builds and the preform well when installed correctly. For the price they are hard to beat. The finish matches well with RRA barrels. For an everyday affordable shooters this block would be great.

Rail is shorter that the traditional
I would have given this a 5 star if the rail lined up with the free float rail. It's about half an inch lower. I with I knew that before I bought it cause it makes a big difference on how it looks and function.

Works fine for a low hight railed block
First build for me, I have had no problem with set screws, or aluminum bloc, just treat them appropriately. I'm going to change it out though for a "rail Height" block, to enable a rail height sight.

Extra part needed
Don't forget to order a 5/64 x 1" gas tube roll pin which is not included. Works well enough, nothing special. But the price is right. Mine did not have the screw on top just 4 on the sides. I had to shorten mine to fit a 1 1/4" gas block area on the barrel I was using thus loosing one set of side screws. I tapped the hole on the bottom 10-32 that was drilled for the gas port. I added an additional set screw there and used a ball end mill to make a slight indention on the barrel for the set screw to grub on to.

Save Your Money
Overall looks are good, and it has a nice finish. However, the 3 set screws are weak, and strip very easily. I emailed Doublestar twice, and they do not reply. Overall, you would be better to choose a clamp on style block, not a set screw.
