Receiver extension tube has the correct, 1.146" outside diameter for mounting collapsible buttstocks designed for the smaller, mil-spec tube. Lets you mount a mil-spec stock on a civilian carbine or convert a rifle with A2-style fixed buttstock to collapsible configuration; carbine action spring and buffer assembly required. Allows fast, easy repeatability of buttstock position with five notches on underside to accept the stock’s locking pin and corresponding white position numbers on top visible through the witness hole on many stocks. Precision machined from aluminum bar stock for consistent dimensions that ensure smooth, snag-free sliding of buttstock.

Vltor Mil-Spec Receiver Extension

Used on Arsenal SLR-107R in conjunction with Rifle Dynamics AK-47 M4 Stock Adapter, Titanium AR-15 QD Endplate & Castle Nut Combo and Rogers Super Stock. Much more pleasant to shoot than original stock. Nothing detrimental compared to rifle's original configuration regarding this part.

Made to spec, solid lock up with magpul butstocks, and works with rifle dynamics' ak-m4 stock adapter

Excellent Quality

Rock solid, excellent finish, no problems. Set up first with a Vltor EMod stock and later replaced with a Magpul CTR. Works perfectly with both. Also had a Mako G-Shock on it for a time and that stock wobbled a tad, but that is the stock's fault given its design and how it is meant to work on Milspec tubes. Not the Vltor RE's fault.

Excellent Receiver Extension

We use these on custom builds and on our house-built guns when we can't get Spike's buffer extensions. These have a very nice black anodized finish that looks better than pretty much any other I've seen. All of my personal rifles have these receiver extensions. As stated by other reviewers, great fit with Magpul stocks, and the numbers are visible through the hole on Colt (and clone) and VLTOR stocks. Great option for a quality build if you don't want to pony up 3x the price for a Colt tube.

best milspec tube

I bought this since so many people said it fits perfectly with the Magpul CTR stock... and they were right! There is no wobble at all. Plus this tube has a nice dark black finish and a cool little VLTOR logo machined into the end. Nice piece overall.

Can't get the shot without good stock...

Construction is solid with tough anodizing. Threads line up well. I mated this to a Magpul mil-spec CTR stock for a solid, lightweight rifle. Index numbers printed on upper side help the beginner get a consistent stock position when opening and closing stock.

Not Vltor at its best

Ordered one to be used in a carbine with a Magpul CTR stock. The stock wobbles significanty more compared to D.S. Arms extension. This was a huge surprise because Vltor has a premium brand reputation. It works ok and coating is excellent.

Disappointed

Was looking for a mil spec diameter RE to replace the commercial one on my BM. Everything has been out of stock, this model was the first one to become available so I ordered it to use with a CTR stock. When you try to collapse the stock to the first position the stock gets hung up on the RE threads before you reach the first hole on the RE. Tried multiple stock & rifle combinations and determined this RE is the problem. Vltor needs to cut down a couple of threads. I bought and installed a BCM RE and everything is perfect. Will be returning this one to Brownells.
