There are some thinner steel versions of this available but this is the stronger option. You can always replace the rubber fuel lines down the road if they get worn or old.

These days things rarely exceed or even meet expectations. Not this tool. It is an OUTSTANDING handguard removal tool. I’m getting older and arthritis makes it a little tougher to do some things. This tool is well made and grips the slip ring/delta ring on any AR perfectly. Works on A1 or A2 style rings with little effort. I’m very pleased with it and can recommend it to anyone. All the contact points are coated and the gripping section is covered with heater hose that won’t Mar your finish or peel away after one use. It’s TOUGH. A simple design that just WORKS. Get one. It will make life easier. A five star product.

I've tried other D-ring tools but this is by far the best there is. Nothing can compare to the quality and functionality of this tool. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I have never, and I mean NEVER, written a review on an item like this before. But I just had to for this handguard tool. I had struggled and struggled with trying to compress the D-ring on a new AR. I had bought other handguard tools but had to return them all because the piece that slides into the magazine well were all too short. But not this one! It worked perfectly! Upper and lower guards were off in less than 10 seconds. THANK YOU for making such an awesome product! It is well worth the cost. It really is true - you get what you pay for.

I bought this Darrel’s hand guard tool a few years ago here on Brownells. Have used it many times and imho none other compare to it. Extremely well made. Makes handguard swaps crazy simple and actually enjoyable. Nicely padded to avoid scratching. No more frustration. Highly recommend! Thanks

I am a new AR15 owner and have just started tinkering with it to accessorize it to my needs and wants and I quickly found that trying to remove or install the handguards or anything adjacent to the handguards that requires or is made easier by removing the handguards is made so much easier and safer with a tool like this. Very simple to operate and it just works as designed. I cannot help but imagine other designs in my head but this is what is on the market right now so I highly recommend it.
