AR-15/M16 AMBIDEXTROUS MAGAZINE RELEASE ASSEMBLY

AR-15/M16 AMBIDEXTROUS MAGAZINE RELEASE ASSEMBLY Reviews & Ratings

Knight's ambidextrous mag release offers a large, easy-to-find off-side release lever that helps you drop the mag reliably and consistently from an unorthodox hand position. The long, wide off-side lever has clean, deep serrations on the control pad, plus the correct angle to provide the right leverage to easily drop the mag - but only when you want to. Easy, drop-in installation on any standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver, and requires zero permanent modifications to your rifle. Any time you need to switch back to the original factory button, the KAC unit can be swapped out almost instantly.

Great gun part!
This is very easy to install when compared to other mag releases. Nice big release button. Ambidextrous release button works very well. Most importantly this part does not scuff or scratch up your lower receiver during installation like other releases that Ive installed.

Solid Ambi mag release
Awesome setup for leftys, def one of the best ones on the market. Also the circular button is way more ergonomically than the standard button.

Great for lefties
Installed this on my AR15 build with no problems. It did not interfere with my enhanced bolt release. Keep in mind that the lever does pivot off of the receiver, so it will leave a visible mark when you take it off. Due to the length of the lever I will be adding one to my AR10 because it's quite a stretch to reach the ambi release I have on it now.

Just what I was looking for.
Being a lefty, was really looking to replace the mag release on my AR. Found a few parts but most looked odd or didn't receive good reviews. Seeing as quite a few people have reviewed this item online as well as YouTube, figured this would be the way to go. Very happy with the purchase of this as the installation was super easy and works great. Switching out mags is far easier and quicker now with this installed. I use a mag couplers (Magpul) on some of my mags and was a bit worried about them not working properly with the mag release installed. Happy to report that they work perfectly with this installed. I've read some reviews where this mag release doesn't work on some lowers, definitely doesn't work the Magpul B.A.D lever as well as a couple other oddities. The only "issue" I have to report here is the cold weather button could have a little better fit to it. Since the groove for the original mag release button is square, the new button is circular so it doesn't quite fit flush against the lower. Mag release still works but just thought this could be updated in future versions.

Gets the job done
extremely easy to use. easy to reach even with short fingers and requires very little finger strength to actuate. Will interfere with a bad lever but as a left handed shooter that is a non issue for me.

Works with one glitch
I bought this because I shoot left handed. I already have a ambi safety so this was all I was lacking to make it left handed friendly. I found out right away that it is not compatible with KNS anti rotation trigger pins. The new left side mag release button hits the anti rotation pin retainer. I wanted the mag release more than the trigger pins. And to be honest, I only installed the trigger pins because of the hype for them online. I never had any issues with the original ones. So I simply reinstalled the original trigger pins. Install was pretty easy. I don't really care a lot for the looks of the round button on the right side of the gun, but it was way easier to install than the original mag release. The new left side button is easy to reach and operate, although it is just a tad stiffer to operate then if your shooting right handed, but nothing that is a deal breaker. All in all I am pretty happy with.

overall good
product seems fine but wanted to post some compatibility issues. If you have a Seekins Precision lower with their ambi-bold catch, the included magazine release button won't work. Should be fine with a normal magazine release button though and that's my plan. Also, can't use it at all with a Magpul BAD lever
