Works one way...
I needed to trim the bottom of this part to be able to close my upper with the lower, which is not an issue and is part of the intended function of the part. It does eliminate any up-and-down play between the upper and lower, but it does NOT eliminate side-to-side tilting of the upper with the lower. It's got limited function as a shim.

Hit or Miss with this
Before I bought this wedge, I did some light research on slop in custom AR's, and had resolved my issue with some hood creativity.. but this is my 1st build so I'm trying to be as studious as I can to this build, by buying parts that are specific to my build. But this slop thing was another issue, so I ordered this wedge and another brand same style and formant which hasn't arrived yet.. So I removed my resolution to my slop issue, and tried this, and was disappointed. This removed some but not all the slop. So I decided to return back to my method...which was.. drum roll.... 2 rubber bands from my daughters hair, one on each takedown pin hole...all slop removed... I'm not saying this is the answer because the type of material the rubber band is made of is VERY important.. test are still needed on my hood approach to this slop issue, try for yourself, there are technical benefits of the rubber band resolution, you can use 2 or 1 or 3 depending on which end of the upper need it...So imma move forward using the rubber band method to remove my slop issue I'm down to just needing a trigger now

Accu Wedge will not work on RRA ARs
I purchased an Accu Wedge to use on my RRA AR15 that has a slight play between upper and lower. When Accu Wedge is installed, it obstructs the closing of the upper and lower. I finally used a razor blade to trim bottom of wedge so it would fit. With almost 90% of base cut away, it finally allowed a tight fit but this wedge is not universal. It may work on other brands fine.
