AR-15/M16 A2 SINGLE-POINT SLING ADAPTER

AR-15/M16 A2 SINGLE-POINT SLING ADAPTER Reviews & Ratings

Low-profile adapter gives an AR-15/M16 with an A2-style buttstock the convenience and versatility of single-point clip-on sling/mash-hook/H&K sling mounting attachment. Precision machined from 4140 carbon steel for extra strength, with extra metal on the attachment loop, so no matter how hard you pull or twist the sling, this adapter won’t break. Right Hand (RH) model has the loop on the left side to accommodate right-handed shooters; Left Hand (LH) model has the loop on the right for left-handed shooters. Requires no permanent alterations to rifle: simply remove the buttstock, slide the adapter over the receiver extension tube, and reinstall the stock using the included spacer and extended buttplate screw.

SPECS: 4140 steel, black oxide finish

What Reviewers Are Saying
Product Quality
70%
Most reviewers commend the overall quality and robust steel construction of the sling adapter, asserting its durability compared to cheaper alternatives. However, some users reported issues with machining tolerances affecting fitment, which detracts from the overall assessment of product quality.
Compatibility
65%
Compatibility with various sling types and buffer tubes is a recurring theme. Users highlight that the adapter is specifically designed for A2 stocks but often experience problems with certain sling attachments, particularly MagPul products. This has led to frustrations regarding the lack of mention in the product description.
Installation Experience
55%
Many reviewers found the installation process straightforward and simple, requiring minimal steps. However, there are mentions of issues arising due to incorrect screw lengths and the necessity for additional spacers to ensure a secure fit.
Tolerances and Fitment
60%
Several reviewers called attention to the inconsistency in manufacturing tolerances, with complaints about the inner diameter being out of specification. This led some users to make adjustments to achieve a proper fit, reflecting the need for improved manufacturing quality control.
Value for Money
50%
Despite some quality control issues, many users feel that the sling adapter is worth the investment, highlighting its robust build and performance. However, the occasional need for modification has led to mixed opinions on its overall value.

Will not accept MagPul paraclip sling
This is designed for the AR15 A2 rifle stock. All you need to do is remove stock buffer screw, slide stock off (careful not to lose the rear takedown pin spring) slide adapter on (making sure rear takedown pin spring is seated) and replace stock buffer screw. It is very easy, however the adapter works only with the H&K claw type sling. The sling attachment loop is too thick for the MagPul paraclip. If you already have the MagPul MS sling w/ attachments you'll want to look else where for a difficult to find part as 99% of the adapters are for the M4 carbine.

Great POA
The adapter looks very well made and sturdy, just the same as the other reviews state. The only thing I would change about it is not with the adapter but with the hardware. I installed mine on an olympic arms lower and the included spacer on mine kept rattling around some. I had to make a shim out of a 1/2" flat washer. It took some time but I was able to get it to just the right tolerances that it would hold both the spacer and the adapter tight on the butt stock. With the slight variances in tolerance from rifle to rifle, that is to be expected and I do not fault Brownells at all. Maybe they could include a couple other spacers that differ by a few hundredths of an inch in length. I would have paid $5 more just for that convenience. Otherwise, excellent product and highly recommend!

Fits a Bushmaster rifle perfectly.
Lets face it there are very few single point adapter plates out there for AR15a2 rifles and even fewer that are quality made. I bought this hoping it would fit a Magpul paraclip, the clip fits but has limited freedom of movement. If the hole was another 1/8" to 1/4" in diameter it would be just perfect. I installed on my Bushmaster and it fit perfectly.

Quality Machined Sling Mount
I was pleasantly surprised upon receiving my Brownells AR single point sling mount. This is the real deal! Thick solid steel construction that was thoughtfully engineered to look great and work perfectly. I mounted this on my A2 style AR15, which is an Oly Arms MPR, and it now looks like the sling mount was OEM from the factory. The finish matches the metal upper receiver very well. Very easy installation, no interference with the charging handle and I'm glad I ordered this product. This is not the cheap aluminum mounts that are sold and in time, DO NOT hold up. I feel confident that this mount will last the life of the rifle.

this thing rocks
perfect fit on my DPMS sweet sixteen A2 stock.

Almost perfect
Finally an A2 stock sling plate for left handed shooters! Fit is near perfect. Steel construction instead of aluminum, very heavy duty. The only compliant is you can not use a QD push button release sling even though they say you can. The eye is too close to the stock. Works great with a HK snap hook release sling though. Very pleased.

installation
the kit assumes you are altering a carbine buffer tube. Instructions refer to the extra spacer that one would need when installing an A2 fixed stock on a carbine rifle(16" buffer tube is shorter).... I installed this on standard 20 inch rifle buffer tube. Unfortunately, the screw that was included in the kit was too long for the rifle buffer tube and will only work if you're modifying a carbine model with a carbine buffer tube and needed a spacer to install A2 stock... fortunately, I was able to use the existing screw and reinstall the stock, but would like one a little shorter than the one provided( or an extra screw for that option) to accommodate standard rifle buffer tube. I might have to cut the screw provided order to get maximum threads... even though only adds up 5/16 of an inch... would like to have that extra threads in stock that holds it all together.

Seems solid, nice addition
Seems solid, not completely flush with the sides of the stock, but close enough. I ended up not using the extended screw, as mine seemed to screw in fine with the original.

Great Design but...
I absolutely love these endplates because they are very robust very well made but I've ordered about a dozen over the past few years and about half of those are out of spec which is always the supporting. the reason I say they're out of spec is the inner diameter where the buffer tube or receiver extension slides through the end plate it's about two or three thousandths too small and so the buffer tube or receiver ext won't actually pass through the end plate, in the past what I've had to do is take a Dremel tool with a polishing wheel and polished inside for a couple minutes and that's all it takes to break that tolerance issue. It's super aggravating to have to do work on a product that should have been done but I understand sometimes that does happen. to be completely honest if I didn't love this product I wouldn't have done it I would have returned it but that's my honest opinion.
