AR-15/308 AR LUG RECESS CLEANING TOOL Reviews & Ratings

This one of a kind tool is used to clean the lug recess area on the AR-15 and 308 AR rifles. The lug recess area collects a lot of grease and debris and needs to be cleaned regularly. This tool compresses a cotton roll and then releases it so you can rotate it inside the lug recess area. Should be used wet with solvent, then followed up with a dry roll. One bag of cotton rolls, about 50, is included with each tool.

Good Tool

I shoot my AR an average of 150 rounds when I go to the range. I clean it when I get home and this tool makes cleaning easier and efficient. It cleans the lug recess very well and Im confident my rifle is ready for its next use. Some have written this tool is poorly made, I disagree. It works as its designed to work and Im very satisfied with it.

Brilliant idea

Locking lugs are difficult to get at, this makes it much easier to swab out and lube.

AR-15 Lug Tool worth every penny!

I use this to clean both my M4 rifle and my ar-15 at home. Hands, down this beats trying to stick a cleaning patch and your pinky in the chamber. This gets it done the first time everytime. The Army should issue this to every soldier. Well worth your $$

50 Pack AR Lug Recess cleaning Rolls

This is a re-order item. Purchased several packs in past. I have depleted my inventory by becoming the family go-to person for efficient AR based firearms cleaning. In combination with the Sinclair recess lug cleaning tool, fouling deposits have been much easier to eliminate versus using a chamber brush (dry brushing.) Total time spent per receiver is reduced. Rolls appear to be same diameter and length as those from my older stock. They function smoothly within the tool retaining tip for deployment and extraction. I have not tested an absorbency comparison between the two lots. Cleaning liquids still permeate through the back of the retaining tip, but adding an absorbent cloth in the magazine well prevents any unwanted overflow into the lower receiver.

Works pretty well

Product does what it was advertised to do. Quality of construction has been good so far. I find if I use a brush first, it works better. I would recommend this to a friend.

Does The Job

Works fine just be sure and use it per the instructions. Other than a spray/flush operation this is about as good as it gets. If you let your lug recesses get encrusted with powder residue (carbon), it may take more than one application to get them clean. It's not the perfect solution, but it does as well as any other workbench cleaning tool I've ever used.

When you read properly the cleaning instructions....,it is very good tool to remove the dirt from behind the chamber of your AR! I will recommend this to all AR-rifle owners!

Cotton Rolls for AR Lug Recess Tool

I purchased several packs of these cotton rolls several years ago. They were thick and full. These, now are small and don't really get the job done. ...I guess something is better than nothing.

Handle Comes Off

I have owned two of these. I bought both of them at Camp Perry. The problem is although it does a good job, is that the handle breaks and comes off. I would think that since I have owned two of these and both had the handles come off that it is a product defect. I am not buying another one.
