AR-15 WARCOMP FLASH HIDER 22 CAL

AR-15 WARCOMP FLASH HIDER 22 CAL Reviews & Ratings

The revolutionary SureFire WARCOMP-556-1/2-28 flash hider, which fits M4 / M16 weapons and variants with ½-28 muzzle threads, is the world’s most shootable flash hider. Its patent-pending design provides three valuable functions: It provides over 99% reduction in muzzle flash compared to a plain muzzle, which helps to conceal the shooter’s location and preserve his dark-adapted vision. It virtually eliminates muzzle rise, which enhances monitoring of target reaction and staying on target for faster follow-up shots. It serves as a rock-solid mounting adapter for all SureFire SOCOM Series 5.56mm Fast-Attach® suppressors, including our SOCOM556-RC model, which placed first in the most extensive and rigorous suppressor testing ever conducted by US Special Operations Command. Precision machined from US Mill-certified heat-treated stainless steel bar stock — including high-precision single-point cut threads for optimum thread interface — the WARCOMP-556-1/2-28 features an Ionbond DLC coating to provide maximum protection under harsh environmental conditions and to facilitate cleaning even after extreme use. When used in conjunction with a SureFire SOCOM Series Fast-Attach suppressor, the WARCOMP provides multiple bearing surfaces to ensure superior suppressor alignment and prevent any ringing of tines inside the suppressor. A rear labyrinth seal mitigates gas leaking from the back of a suppressor, minimizes potential carbon buildup in the indexing system, and facilitates suppressor removal after extended firing. Every SureFire WarComp is individually inspected for concentricity and alignment. For rock-solid mounting of a SOCOM Series suppressor, unparalleled flash reduction, and minimizing muzzle rise, there’s literally nothing like a SureFire WarComp—the world’s most shootable flash hider. FITS: M4, M16 and variants with ½-28 muzzle threads MOUNTS: All SureFire SOCOM Series 5.56mm /.223 caliber sound suppressors NOTE: SureFire SOCOM Series Fast-Attach sound suppressors and current-model WarComps, muzzle brake and flash hider adapters are NOT compatible with previous (non-SOCOM) SureFire Fast-Attach sound suppressors, muzzle brakes, or flash hiders.

Warcomp is king
Excellent hybrid muzzle compensator. Quick detach suppressor option is an outstanding feature.

Don't consider anything else for your AR
This is by far the best muzzle device for a combat purposed carbine. It keeps the muzzle down while hiding flash at the same time. I use these on all of my ar15 builds. It outperforms Surefire's CTN warcomp and any other "flash hiding comp" on the market. It is a shame that OSS and Surefire can't collab to make a flow-through can that attaches to the warcomp. At the time of my last warcomp purchase, noones else had them in stock except for the price gougers selling them for $250+ on gunbroker. I was pleased to find it in stock at Brownells for only a couple bucks more than the typical price of $129.00. I got it for under $135

Excellent
I put one of these on a 12.5" build. Fit and finish are flawless, and the ability to easily switch between open brake / suppressor / linear comp (Surefire Warden) is outstanding. Overall the system feels rugged and well built, typical of SF in my experience. Liked it so much I picked up their closed tine version to try out as well.

Fantastic
The war comp flash hider is awesome. The ports do help recoil and follow up shots. Instilation is really easy but I would suggest watching the Surefire Instilation video first.

This one vs the brake
I bought the RC2 suppressor and this device as well as the brake. I like both. My 1st purchase was the brake as i heard (not from the manufacturer) that the brake takes a good hit, sparing the suppressor a bit. No idea if this is true or not?? 2nd i went with this flash hider version. Both are excellent. Just a word of caution though!! This device is machined in such a way that your copper killer solvent can be trapped in a little "reservoir" inside the the device. If you stand your gun up, in the gun safe after cleaning, a decent amount can drain back down your barrel. Just get in there good with a Q-tip, and/or park your gun muzzle down for the 1st night after clean. I like both types of devices the same. The brake might help the suppressor last longer?? The brake IS easier to clean out. The brake is louder and does not tone down muzzle flash. You can't have it all with physics.

Surefire warcomp 223/556 muzzle
I received it in the mail fairly quickly. The muzzle is very high-quality which is to expect from surefire. Brownells was the only place that was in stock. It is for “223/556”not 22 caliber, which the description says .Good price for $152. Unfortunately, I am unable to install it on my PSA because I do not have enough shims to clock it correctly for right handed and must order or buy locally more shims. Would I buy this muzzle again? Absolutely! Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

Works well.
Replaced my DPMS/Miculek muzzle brake with the Warcomp, mainly due to wanting to eventually run a SF SOCOM suppressor, plus its on a 14.5 so the length brings it to 16.75 pinned and welded. Shooting unsuppressed there is no flash whatsoever (mid-light conditions) and there is some mitigation of muzzle movement. It does still move a little more than the JM brake I bought from Brownells earlier. If you want something that looks the part, need the length and want to run SFs suppressor, its great. If youre just looking for decreased muzzle movement, get the JM from Brownells for thirty something bucks, but keep in mind that one is loud and kicks a lot of gas out of the sides. No complaints from bystanders with the Warcomp!
