Smith Enterprise is now offering the upgraded G6A4 Vortex with Arc Helix. The Arc Helix has been designed to even further facilitate the installation/removal of the Smith Enterprise Windtalker sound suppressor, coupled with a shallower pitch and grooves to reduce surface contact and carbon buildup. Through test and evaluation they have also found that the Arc Helix has proven itself to retain better accuracy as the round leaves the suppressor. Heat treated same as all other Vortexes. 1/2 x 28 I.D. thread.

The only flash hider I will use.

I have had a Vortex for so many years that I can't count and it is still the best in my opinion.

What flash

I purchased the Vortex G6A4 and it just plain works. Haven't shot my rifle at night but when concentrating on the muzzle on a covered outdoor range during the day I can't even pick up a hint of flash. I'm very pleased with the results, I have the G6A4 mounted on a 12.5 pistol build and this Flash Eliminator is doing what its supposed to do. One more thing, it couldn't be easier to install. No timing, no crush washer, just snug it up hand tight and your good to go. It self tightens even more as you shoot, great product thanks SEI. If it's good enough for the military I guess it's good enough for me.

Best flash hider out there

I run these almost exclusively, and have since the first generation ones came out. With all of the pistol AR builds I've done lately, the A2 style just doesn't cut it. Flash is extreme out of 10.3-12.5" builds I've done using other hiders. Even on the shortest ones I've built there is no flash whatsoever with the Vortex. Very high quality construction and machining. Only bad thing it that these seem to be hard to keep in stock.

The Best Flash Eliminator

I have the Vortex G6-A4 flash eliminator on my Recce style AR build and plan to use more in the future. It's quality is excellent and so is its design. They call it a flash eliminator for a reason; because that's what it does. Installation is very simple since no crush washer is needed and the unit is self-tightening as the gun is shot. The only way I think they could improve the design would be to eliminate the small ringing noise that is barely audible with each shot. This is common with all pronged type flash hider that act similar to a tuning fork. If you want the lowest flash signature, this is the product you want.

Effective but there is still flash

Tested during dusk conditions in 20 degree F weather. Ran it on a 16" BA hanson profile barrel. Cant say its a flash eliminator since i had about as much flash as when shooting with a can (a little bigger than a candle or lighter flame) , but it certainty reduces flash. Looks cool, and is easily installed.
