AR-15 SLH M-LOK ASSEMBLED UPPER RECEIVER

AR-15 SLH M-LOK ASSEMBLED UPPER RECEIVER Reviews & Ratings

Over the last few years, manufacturers have settled on a number of key features that make their rifles stand out in the marketplace. Unfortunately, few companies blend all these elements into a single design, so Brownells and Midwest Industries partnered to bring all these enhanced components into one product: the AR-15 SLH M-LOK Assembled Upper Receiver. These AR-15 SLH M-LOK Assembled Upper Receivers are the latest in AR design, featuring a slim, streamlined handguard compatible with all M-LOK accessory attachments. The system is also built with a mid-length gas system designed to reduce wear on internal components as well as mitigate recoil, and the Pencil-profile barrel features a .223 Wylde chamber that enables users to get the most accuracy possible from their 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. ammunition.

  • Receiver forged from 7075 aluminum
  • Twist rate: 1:8 inches
  • Made entirely in the USA
  • Matte-black finish
  • Does not include Charging Handle or Bolt Carrier Group

Other features found on the AR-15 SLH M-LOK Assembled Upper Receiver include M4-style feed ramps, A2 flash hider and an all-black finish.

Great upper at a fantastic price
This is my second Midwest industries upper and they make phenomenal stuff in general and especially for the money. I bought this on a Memorial Day sale for a crazy low price and it shipped fast. This upper is on par with a bcm or solgw in my opinion seeing as I own both of those brands

Great well built jpper
Havent had a chance to shoot it yet since Im building the rifle piecemeal but it feels comfortable and is very sturdy construction and not a problem with weight. I put it on a Palmetto State Lower w/magpul STR and put some optics on it. Does not have BCG or charge but does come with everything you need for your complete upper besides that. The Picatinny is full top side w/3,6,9 M lok which is very nice. And there is a small Picatinny mlok rail included. Nice bonus.

Midwest Industries gave misinformation
Before I purchase this I called Midwest Industries and ask them what the specs on the barrel were. The person I talk to you told me they couldnt tell me who made the barrel and that the barrel was Melonite coated on the outside and chrome lined. The chrome lined barrel didnt sound right with the melonite finish but I thought at the time I guess its possible. The person I talk to also told me that he didnt know what metal the barrel was, but that he could figure it out. He put me on hold for 30 seconds and came back and told me the metal was 4150 steel. When I receive the barrel I noticed the barrel was not chrome lined, they had given me the specs for their more expensive barrel option...So to this day I dont know the full specs of the barrel or who makes the barrel. I called Midwest industries to complain and I got a woman on the phone that one didnt know anything about the products they made and two couldnt have cared less that I spent my hard-earned money on some thing that wasnt accurately describe to me. I asked her who made the barrel and she said she couldnt tell me because it was proprietary information and I lost my temper and said something I probably shouldnt have. I emailed midwest industries to ask the specs on the barrel and the owner got back to me and refused to answer the following questions. 1. Are your melonite MI barrels magnetic particle inspected? 2. Do you have an MOA guarantee on your barrels? 3. Im having trouble getting the flashlight off and I dont wanna damage the rifle is the flash hider pinned and welded? If not Is there Loctite on the threads? 4. does the barrel have a crown or is it just cut straight(Which some people call a straight crown but it really isnt) ? 5. Who makes the barrel? The owner also told me he didnt want me as a customer. Most (if not all)of the parts made by Midwest Industries are made by other manufactures. Case in point the upper receiver is made by aero precision and sold for $10 cheaper on Aero Percisions site. If you part out this entire upper on midwest industries site it comes out to $465(minus the flash hider because they dont offer a flash hider on the MI site) which is substantially cheaper than they are charging for this upper.I cannot recommend this upper and would recommend everybody just go purchase the actual components from the different manufacturers or on Brownells site as it will be cheaper and you wont get a mystery barrel...I also put a review on Midwest industries website about the upper that they did not post on the site...
