Cheap
This thing only costs 30 something dollars. It looks cheap and feels cheap. Also, doesn't fit over the gas block of a Hbar without cutting the heat shield. I will be going back to the A2 style on my dissipator.
Takes a lot of work to make it right...
I re-read the description, and it says the triangular handguard is a REPRODUCTION. Well, IMO the 2 halves should nest together, not just sit flush. I bought 2 sets and neither one fits together properly. I even took opposite halves from each and it fit even worse. I'm thinking I need to surface the mating halves, but I am going to try and fit it on the rifle first, it may look better once it is under the pressure of the delta ring and front retainer. I got this because it's nearly the only game in town, other than authentic M16A1 handguards. I see a high 4.5 out of 5 rating and I ignored the negative reviews. Either there are a LOT of confirmation bias among buyers of this or the QC team is slacking. I'm capable of making it work, but for such a cheaply molded piece, at this price point, it should be darn near PERFECT. Brownell's is usually lots better than this.
Poor fitment
Really disappointed. Two halves don't fit together very well. Plastic is very thin. Wouldn't recommend.
