The Brownells Premium Lightweight Carbine Barrels come in a variety of popular lengths, ready to suite any new carbine build. Ballistic Advantage is manufacturing these to Brownell’s specifications and quality standards, ensuring you get the best barrel possible. Barrel exteriors are coated with the standard phosphate finish, which provides an excellent matte finish, and retains oil extremely well. The most important aspect of the barrel, the bore and chamber, are hard chromed, to prevent corrosion, ease cleaning and prevent long term wear. The button rifled barrels, profiled from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, feature a 223 Wylde chamber, that allows them to accommodate 223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition equally well. The 1-8 twist will handle commonly available Full Metal Jacket 55gr loads, all the way up to heavier, premium 77gr bullets. All of these Lightweight Barrels have a .625 gas block journal to correspond with the overall slim profile, preventing your Carbine from becoming front heavy. ½-28 muzzle threads accept common muzzle devices and the M4 feedramps at the opposite end interface perfectly with M4 feedramps in your upper receiver.

Great barrel at a great price

This barrel was on clearance when I ordered it. It is the length, profile and chambering I was looking for. The price was very good and it seems to be nice quality. I have not had the chance to break it in or fire it yet so, I can’t speak to its accuracy.

Accurate, great barrel

Installed on an Aero upper, no issues. Fired 55 & 62 grain PMC maintaining about a 2 to 3 MOA out to 200yds. Still hits an IPSC size gong out to 400, but that was pushing it. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

A year in has performed flawlessly

Love me a pencil or hybrid profile over gov everyday. I own many ballistic adv barrels and they did a fantastic job on these for Brownells. Got a 14.5 pinned to a Xeno mount for the Wife’s rifle and it shoots about 1-1.5 moa with match and 2-2.5 with training loads. Appropriately gassed as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Gas port too large

I ordered the 14.5” midlength specifically because in the Q&A Brownells said the gas port was 0.0745”, and I’m trying to replace an over gassed barrel (a Faxon likely also made by Ballistic Advantage) which is at least 0.080”. Well, I can still get a 5/64” drill bit that my calipers tell me are about 0.079” in this new barrel’s gas port. This is either poor quality control or bad information from Brownells.
