Excellent Flash Suppressor
Does what it's supposed to do. On my 2nd one.
A bit glossy but otherwise quite nice
Installed on my custom AR build without issues, had to torque the flash hider almost 340 degrees to get the timing right. But had no difficulty with the crush washer at all, and all I used was a small 6" crescent wrench. The color is a very glossy black as opposed to the grey/matte black of the rest of the rifle. But it doesn't stakd out enough to be distracting. Performs without issues, all ports are same size.
great flash hider easy to install
perfect flash hider, looks tactical for an affordable price...and its YHM. very easy to install and the guy who had a 6'2" 250lbs buddy that couldnt "crush" this washer....well idk how because it was so easy to crush i didnt even need a breaker bar...if you have a quality armorers wrench and torque wrench, your good to go!
Works as advertised
For an inexpensive Flash hider, it works very well. I paired it with the C-5 adapter for my Siaga AK-74 and I cant be more pleased. I wrote a review for the adapter and along with this flash hider I think I now have a pretty good looking rifle. I was unprepared for the difference that it would actually make when shooting. I'd like to say it has even reduced the recoil somewhat. For inexpensive parts that you can add to your firearm, you will be surprised at the outcome. I am very pleased with my purchase.
YHM is awesome
Yankee always makes quality stuff and I'm glad I got this for my AR
Awesome
eliminates almost all flash. I don't know why I waited so long to buy this. I don't know if there's any other product for around 20 bucks that can make your rife looks as cool as this does.
Good value
This is a big improvement over my stock bird cage. Eliminates all flash and looks a lot better as well!!! The crush washer was just right for my Colt.
Outstanding product
Definate improvement over the stock "birdcage" flash hider. Complete flash elimination (especially with low-flash powders). Although not a muzzle brake, I perceived a slight recoil reduction as well. Did not seem to increase the noise level like an actual muzzle brake would. And frankly, it just looks cool.
Excellent Value
Bought this for an inexpensive yet quality build and doubt that I could have made a better choice. I wanted a muzzle brake with a "people mover" bevel and this fits the bill. Be warned that it's about twice the length (maybe less) of a birdcage, but is also probably twice as effective. MAKE SURE YOU BUY A PEEL WASHER FOR INSTALLATION as my 6'2" 250lbs Krav Maga instructor buddy can't even smash one of those crush washers it comes with!!!
One of the best FH/Comps available today
The Phantom out-performs the A1/A2 birdcage FHs by a huge margin. Shooting at dusk with these reveals no flash from 20 & 18" bbls and minimal hot spot with 16" bbl. Flash signature compares well to Vortex (at much higher cost). The BEST FH/Comp I've ever used/tested was the DTA MilBrake made in the mid/late 1980s and long since gone. This is a close 2nd.
