Great addition
Great products as usual from Magpul. No leaks. Believe me i tried to pop it open.
As advertised!
…I have to run my AR9’s wet AF. Nice to always have lube available for those range days when I forget to wet them down ahead of time.
;)
Bought 2 for both my PCC’s,.. have to get another for my AR10.
good product
All my ARs and AKs have MOE grips. Having a bottle of lube available at all times is extremely advantageous. I bought enough of these grip insert bottles for all my rifles and carry "machinegunners lube" in them, a special oil with moly, developed for ARs. It works well in all my guns and maybe yours, too, if we hit the range together.
Nice Use of Space
This is a great use for that otherwise empty space in the grip. I put one in every AR I build. It might not get a lot of useits not often that I personally have had to touch up dry spots. Buts its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. For the price, even occasional use is justified.
As advertised
AR owners everywhere know that it never hurts to have some extra lube on-hand. This keeps some close by in that unused pistol grip cavity without adding noticeable weight. Doesn't leak and works as advertised.
Worth It
I was worried that this would leak, but have had no issues so far. I have this in three rifles and have had no problems after a year and a half of use. It never hurts to have a little oil on hand. I never thought that I would use it, but when you have it right there with you there is no excuse.
Great Idea
In case you didn't know, the biggest secret to keeping an AR purring is consistent lubrication. With a bolt carrier/receiver interface that acts as one giant contact surface, keeping things slicked up is the single best way to maintain reliable function. That's why it's such a great idea to have this little squeeze bottle already stored in your grip. No matter where you are, you can just pop it out and touch up any dry spots with your preferred gun oil. The rimmed pop-cap is easy to use, the oil is dispensed at a good rate (not too messy, not too stingy), and the softer plastics make minimal noise in the event the bottle unseats itself from its nest in the grip cap. It holds enough oil for more touch-ups and cleanings than you'll probably do in a year, so don't let the size throw you. Bear in mind that this will not fit all Magpul grip models, as some (the SL, K, and K2, to my knowledge) are too narrow to accept it. As for actual downsides, the little connnector for the cap can potentially break if it's twisted too much, and the aforementioned nest in the grip cap could afford to be just a touch deeper. That's it.
