Excellent all-around grip
I love the grip angle, the thinness, and the backstrap support. I know that's typically a matter of personal preference, but this is a comfortable all-around shape for a carbine. The hard plastic is grippy and comfortable and gives every indication that it's Magpul's typically excellent quality. The grip comes with a hex screw and washer, so installation is a breeze. It pairs well with the rest of Magpul's MOE SL furniture, but I could this grip working with any lightweight setup.

Almost perfect
I love the feel and ergonomics of this. Unfortunately, I really use the storage that other models (like the K2) have, but again these feel perfect, even for a larger hand!
Better than the original grip A2 grip
This is a big upgrade for anyone that wants to upgrade from an original A2 style grip on their AR. I have put this upgrade off for a number of years with so many different grip upgrades available from different manufacturers out there. I choose the Magpul MOE SL GRIP because it just felt better in my hand. The angle is better for holding and seems to give a better trigger pull. I have large hands and this grip may seem a little small for someone with extra large hands.
Phenomenal Carbine Grip
At a glance the SL looks like a K grip with a tail, but in reality it offers a combination of new elements to make it practical for a range of shooters. The backstrap sits farther back than the K's to fill the hand better and provide a longer trigger reach (slightly longer, in fact, than the trough in the K2 offers), and angles out slightly to give the hand a little something to press on. The tail sweeps back quickly and sticks away from the receiver a bit to "fill the gap" better than most of its siblings and rivals. Meanwhile, the phenomenal texturing (a Gen-3 Glock-style crosshatch on the front and back and Magpul's new pyramids on the sides) make for a secure grip given the limited surface area. The overall grip angle seems to fall somewhere between those of the MOE and K2 and if anything is more natural and comfortable than either. Finally, the minimized contours - no dips, swells, or depressions - help prevent some common torque-related handling problems. Now, I do wish it had a little more surface area given my large hand size, but that's just part of its design and is not enough to make me replace it. I also feel some accommodation could have been made for internal storage, a feature I miss more than expected. Both of these may be addressed in the future with an "SL-X" model or some such, but until then I'm happy.
Great for what it is
If you are looking for a Magpul MIAD, this is not it (nor does it claim to be). If you have large hands, keep looking. Essentially this is an improved version of the MOE-K grip. A little longer with a beaver-tail and better stippling. I think the pinky hook at the bottom front might be slightly more pronounced too. For what it is I like it a lot and it matches up nicely with the other MOE-SL items.
great for AR pistols/wish it had storage
Nice slim feel with an ideal grip angle for short LOP but think Magpul could have figured out a way to do storage, so only four stars. Wish the SL line also included a mid length handguard too
