AR-15 MK14 SUPER MODULAR RAIL HANDGUARD

AR-15 MK14 SUPER MODULAR RAIL HANDGUARD Reviews & Ratings

The Geissele MK14 Super Modular Rail tactical AR-15 handguard has a slim cross-section that makes it is ideal for shooters who use rail covers and/or a vertical grip - and who also employ the thumb-over-the-bore support hand grasp. Similar to their MK13 SMR, the Geissele MK14 delivers acres of real estate for mounting accessories, with M-LOK slots running the handguard’s full length at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.

The MK14 Super Modular Rail also sports an uninterrupted Picatinny rail running the full length of the top. Geissele even thoughtfully includes sockets for QD pushbutton sling swivels at the 11 and 1 o’clock positions at the rear.

  • Strong & lightweight machined 6061 T6 aluminum
  • Barrel Nut Wrench no longer included with the handguards.
  • Type III hardcoat anodized
  • Available in basic Black or Geissele’s Desert Dirt Color (DDC)
  • Proprietary free-float barrel nut included

Geissele also engineered the MK14 Super Modular Rail handguard to free-float the barrel using their easy-to-install proprietary barrel nut. The nut is 2.25" long, so there’s plenty of surface area for secure, rigid, straight anchoring of the handguard in place. Please note that a gas block is no longer included with these handguards.

Amazing
Arrived 3 days before eta. Condition was flawless and of course the QC is top notch. Can’t go wrong with Geissele and there’s no better place to get your parts or tools other than Brownells.

Great Handguard!
Built solid and the QD mount was a nice surprise in the perfect spot(for me). This company kills it!
5
Beautiful rail. I am stupid
I submitted a previous review stating that the rail did not have the barrel nut included. I am stupid and did not look INSIDE the rail, it was just sitting in there. I retract my previous review. I am just holding it and admiring it right now.
5
Great product.
Its super high quality and built pretty robust. One negative is I paid the advertised price, not a big deal but when a guy pays geissele money on a build then you oughta get a sticker in the box. There wasnt a sticker and I was bummed. Still a 5 star product though.

No barrel nut. Don't forget to order.
Excellent machine job so smooth like butter. Lightweight but just feels tough like a quad rail gives you. I can't seem to find anything that geissele makes that ain't above and beyond.

The world's foremost handguard
This has to be the finest handguard I've ever used. Some has noted cons that this rail is heavier than the BCM, however, the weight difference is negligible and the craftsmanship of this piece is truly a work of art. Completely stole the show at my buddy's gun get-together. *Maybe* the only possible con someone could think of is that the super precise barrel nut is 1/4" visible past the first M-lok slot, so you can see the barrel nut after the rail is installed. nbd since they color matched the finish of the barrel nut. These Geissele guys left no stone unturned. Add to that the best customer service experience from Brownells and this is my best purchase of 2019. Lifelong customer.

No barrel nut
Gorgeous rail with the immaculate fit and finish you would expect. I can't comment on the performance once installed, as it does NOT come with the barrel nut, despite the description saying it does. Once I receive the barrel nut and get it installed I am sure I'll be pleased.

Not worth
This is a good rail, but its not worth what they charge when the competition is cheaper and more proven. Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, feels sturdy, not overly heavy, narrow Cons: Pricey (you're paying for name, not track record), durability (or qc), barrel nut wrench not included, narrow To start. One of these that I had appears to have a crack near the anti rotation tabs, i followed all instructions and torque specs, even though, they are different on the rail and the instruction manual, and I didn't drop it or anything. Given the price, unacceptable. Also, aside from YouTube, I'm not sure who is putting these through their paces to justify such a high price (soon you'll have to buy the barrel nut probably). The price has also increased through G not offering the barrel nut wrench and gas block with these over time, but the rail doesn't seem any different. I have two. If both were perfect, I'd give this a 3 to 4. For me, the rail is too narrow. I have large man hands and these super slim rails I don't like so much. I do like the texture, its awesome. Also, I like that they were lazy and didn't paint the tmarks, but if you're using a standard upper like Aero or BCM, you'll notice the difference. The fact the there is no mlok on the offsets isn't a big deal at all. I havent ever been able to fit anything on the 130 and 1030 sections of these skinny rails. If I could do it all again, id save the money and get a bcm. They have far more of a track record, they are a far better value, you don't have to align the anti rotation tabs, and I havent had any problems out of them at all. They also come with a barrel nut wrench like common sense would suggest. This one just looks better.

Buyer Beware
Paid Full Price But Does Not Come With A Gas Block. Better to order direct from Geissele and get the gas block that should come with it.
