MBUS® FLIP-UP SIGHT SET FOR AR-15 Reviews & Ratings

Low-profile, flattop-mounted, polymer sights deploy instantly at the touch of a finger to provide backup sighting if a primary optic fails. Streamlined contours mean there’s nothing to snag on brush, sling, or other gear when folded. Spring-loaded ambidextrous release mechanism lets you hit the grooved tab on either side of the sight to deploy, and lock it in place. Hitting the same tabs retract the sight when you’re done. Uses less than 1" of MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny receiver rail space and locks securely in place with the included steel crossbolt.

Provides the same height over bore as standard A2 iron sights. Windage-adjustable rear sight has two apertures: a large, .185" peep and a .070" peep.

Designed for AR-type rifles and carbines, fits any weapon with Picatinny rails. Front sight must be mounted on a railed forend on the same plane as the receiver rail to witness correctly with rear sight. Not compatible with railed gas blocks or the MOE handguard.

OK but not quite what all I expected

I got these to replace a cheap set on a mag feed 12 ga that would often flip down from recoil. I was under the impression from looking at the pictures that they would lock into place when in the up position. They do not. They only lock in the down position which in that regard is no better than the cheap set I had. But I can tell the springs are considerably better so I'm hoping they won'l flip down and latch when I'm pumping out the long brass. Will see when I shoot them. They are made well and were easy to install and a smooth slide onto my rail. I like how they deploy and that is why I chose them overt the gen3 version. But I do wish they locked in the up position. That is really the only detractor other than having to use a tool to adjust the front. That is why 4 stars and not 5.

Great Sights!

I love the sights, but it would be nice if they made a set with a luminescent front sight, as it's hard to see it against a dark target.

Better Than Expected

Very easy to attach and simple to set. Good choice if you need hard sights as a backup.

Reliable Sights

I have always used MagPul MBUS and just enjoy the simplicity of the product. I gave it a 4 star rating because of the shipping SNAFU, which I realize is not Brownell's fault. Otherwise, great product as usual.

Difficult Installation of the Rear Sight

The sights are very functional and work perfectly. The front sight slid on the rail easily. The rear sight had to be tapped on the rail with a small mallet. The fit of the rear sight was too tight to allow it to slide on freely. The rail is within specifications and consistent from end to end, which means the tight fit lies with the sight and not the rail.

Small Alteration Needed For KeyMod Rail

The front site did not flip open without small modification. The deploy button feet would hit against the keymod rail. I dremeled a small notch on each side and it works great. I like the price point and FDE matched my build well. I wish they were flatter but overall happy with them. They provide a nice sight picture and will serve their purpose if ever needed.

these sights came with my AR, they are pretty simple to use and low profile. I have nothing to complain about. great for back up sights!

Nice Sights

I bought a pair of these to use on a new AR-15 build. On this build I used an Adams Arms piston kit together with the Samson Handguard that has a cut out for the piston gas block. Because the top of the gas block is slightly lower than the top of the handguard rail, the front site will not fold down flat all the way. Other than that they seem to be good sights. I will use them on another project.

Nice set

The set is very good and nicely priced compared to metal BUIS made by other companies. Peep aperture could be a little better and the elevation adjustment tool for the front sight is poorly constructed (buy a metal one) as it lost two teeth upon its first use. Installation wasn't smooth as I expected. I had to force (with the aid of a rubber hammer, gently, to not damage the sights)it on my noveske quad rail. Excepts that they work like a charm.
