The M4E1 Lower Receiver delivers billet aesthetics in a forged package. This custom-designed enhanced forging is machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum and compatible with all mil-spec AR15 parts. Aside from the visual upgrades, this custom-engineered design provides features that challenge much more expensive billet options and simplify the assembly process for the at-home builder.

M4E1 LOWER RECEIVER IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Threaded Bolt Catch Roll Pin - Allows for simple installation of the bolt catch and virtually eliminates the chance to damage the finish during installation (pin included). 1/16" Hex Key required for assembly.
  • Integrated Trigger Guard - Eliminates the possibility of breaking the trigger guard tabs by integrating the trigger guard into the lower, creating a stronger more rigid platform to build upon.
  • Upper Tension Screw - Allows users to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower receiver using a nylon tipped tensioning set screw inserted in the grip tang of the lower receiver. This provides a tight fit with any standard AR15 upper receiver.
  • Threaded Takedown Pin Detent Recess - Allows user to easily install the Takedown Pin detent and spring with the use of a 4-40 set screw (no more launching detents across the room).
  • Increased Magwell Flare - Increased the flare of the magwell to aid in quick and efficient magazine changes.
  • Marked and milled to accept short-throw safety selectors, but will work with standard selectors as well.

Bolt Catch Slot Machined Improperly
Ordered two of these receivers and both were out of spec in the transverse slot in which the bolt catch rides. The aspect of that slot adjacent to the magwell had a visible "bump" that was clearly the cause of the problem. After some fitting, was able to remedy the problem. I would speculate that in the attempt to meet current demand, some QC has suffered. Have built at least three other Aero lowers without this problem and thought them very high quality and great value.

loosenign over time
Two days later I am able to fit this on my uppers. Still a bit tight, but working the pivot pins does seem to loosen the works to a reasonable level. Feeling better about the product.

Seems okay.
Wasnt the lowest priced lower, but decided to get an Aero as a change of pace just to see what theyre like. The threaded bolt catch pin wasnt an attraction for me as Ive found installing a traditional roll pin isnt that much of a challenge. From a risk standpoint, the rifle will function without a bolt catch if the threaded pin backs out. The danger being if the failure occurs while the BCG is cycling. Anyway, I installed the pin and did a tension check. It didnt really seem to have a great deal of resistance to being backed out once installed. Just as a precaution, I added a small application of Loctite and tightened it back in. Other than that, the lower appears well made, looks good, and mated up well with a couple different upper assemblies.
