Good Quality...
The LUTH-AR LPK is a good quality basic mil spec LPK. It's even better with JP .156" hammer- trigger pins sold on this site. And it's even better with the hammer spring legs adjusted to 5 o'clock. Trigger has a smooth take up to the wall and breaks clean. Very satisfied.
Works well, made it better
For a mil-spec rifle, this is the ticket. I was nervous about springs flying all over when I first started installing everything, but honestly for a guy at his dining room table it was pretty uneventful! The hardest parts were the detent spring for the pivot pin and the fire control group. But nothing was remotely difficult to the point where I considered having a gunsmith do it for me. Now this part may not be for everybody. But I oiled a 2000-grit sanding block and smoothed out the contact points between the trigger and hammer. Not altering the geometry, but simply taking out the machining marks left by the manufacturing process. Resulted in a much inproved trigger pull with the same characteristics of a mil-spec unit. No grittiness of any kind! Of course I could've dropped $200+ on a drop-in trigger and gotten better results - but this is plenty good enough for me, and I can spend that $200+ on ammo now!
Luth-ar parts kit
Used for a carbine build. All parts were sized correctly and installed easily. Did not usecthe A2 grip, had a different one that i prefer.

Great value for the price! I used this kit on my latest recreational shooting lightweight AR-15 build. 1. Packaging: (GREAT) keeps your parts well-organized, and the packaged components are in numbered blisters / pockets with the key printed on the back side of the package card. AND there's a strip of tape running on the back side of the blisters inside the blister pack to keep the parts in the blisters after you open the package (you don't get the parts flying all over the floor when you finally open the package after a struggle). I didn't drop a part during my last build. ((Tip: I slit the tape on each blister as I needed to pull out a part, and then used my automotive magnetic pickup tool to pull the small parts (springs, pins) so I wouldn't drop them on my garage floor. Worked great! )) 2. The Trigger: It's a straight MILSPEC trigger (I have 27 years in the military, and 10+ years in LE). It's the best of the mass-market bulk triggers I've bought. The sear and hammer were smooth on the contact/release surfaces, and I didn't feel any "crunchy" movement while taking up the slack. I checked the surfaces before installing and they were smooth (not quite as good as if they were stoned), but much better than others I've installed. Trigger pull is smooth and constant to hammer release. 3. It's made in USA in Minnesota
Great parts at a great Price!!
I really like the way LuthAR lays out all the parts in the package, though the plastic container is very hard to get INTO. But once this is over, all the parts fit and worked perfectly. CON - but not enough to lower my rating, was the fact that out of two kits, one had a very decent trigger pull (with creep of course), but the 2nd one was like trying to walk on sharp gravel down a country road - IT WAS HORRID. I guess I need to get a stone and clean it up, but "com'on man!!" {reference to Sleepy Joe-LOL}, a little more attention to detail and the sear face would help us poor slobs out that don't own stones and DO NOT HAVE THE TIME to mess with them either!!! Other than this hiccup, I would definitely recommend this parts kit to anyone!!!
Nice kit for the money
This was my third purchase of this kit. Positives- nicely laid out, economical, reasonable quality. Negatives- only one, selector in one kit was badly out of round, there was no fitting it. However, contacted the manufacturer and they promptly sent a replacement that was in spec. In my opinion, a very good value for the cost.
All parts fit properly and work= value
I bought this to finish a PSA lower, one of the small quantity funny laser etched ones. This was my first AR build, so I wanted a parts kit that was A. Quality and B. Idiot proof. Luth AR sells this in a really great package that keeps everything separated and labeled. There's a strip of clear tape over the small bits so they don't fly everywhere when you open the package. The tape also makes it easy to get the small parts out of the plastic divets they're held in. Springs in particular are easy to lose, and the packaging helps you to keep them under control. A lot of kits I found for sale here and elsewhere tend to be a bag of parts that are loose and you have to sort out what's what. I can reuse this packaging if I want to store spares, which is super. The parts all fit properly. Nothing needed to be massaged. Nothing was under tolerance or loose, which I expected kind of with a budget lower. I also liked that it came with a grip, buffer retainer spring, and and buffer retainer, which a lot of kits don't have. So, I've added Luth AR to my trusted brands list for gun stuff. The only thing I might mildly whine about is that you have to pull the card out of the packaging and flip it back and forth to read the parts labeling as you go. A trip to my printer copied it and resolved that for whatever a sheet of paper and a bit of ink cost. Great product. I'll be doing a full build review on my site with this, but I wanted to be sure to leave a useful review here for prospective buyers who, like me, find the market flooded with AR bits and many just aren't that great. This is a great product. It's worth the price and definitely good enough to be in Brownell's catalog as well as your build.
Excellent Lower Parts Kit!!
There were no reviews and I wanted to try a different company from the kits I had used in the past. I built an A1 clone. Packaging was top notch. Parts are laid out nicely and numbed in the package. Quality of the parts were top notch and eveything went together smoothly. After assembly I was very happy with the feel and look of the parts on my lower. Trigger pull feels mil-spec. I didn't actually measure the trigger pull but I like it and it feels nice and smooth. A+ Kit
Decent value
I bought this for an AR15 build. The four stars mainly reflects the trigger, which is just average, although not too heavy, about 6 lbs. The grip is solid, I can't complain too much. The rest of the parts are great, they do their job and I have no complaints there either. The packaging is great, everything is labeled with the package and it's easy to keep track of everything. I would buy it again. Made in USA!
Good kit, not my fav Pistol Grip
Overall it's a great lower. I like Luth-AR and this is a good kit. I just bought my own pistol grip, since I didn't like this one.
