AR-15 LOWER PARTS KIT

AR-15 LOWER PARTS KIT Reviews & Ratings

The Geissele AR-15 Lower Parts Kit contains all 17 parts necessary to get your lower receiver operational - minus the trigger and pistol grip. Geissele is renowned for superbly designed, meticulously manufactured products, and these parts meet their high standards. Items in the AR-15 Lower Parts Kit are manufactured to "mil-spec" (M16 / M4) dimensions to ensure optimum fit and function in your AR rifle or carbine. The Geissele AR-15 Lower Parts Kit includes:

  • Bolt catch
  • Bolt catch plunger / spring / roll pin
  • Mag release
  • Mag release button
  • Mag release spring
  • Buffer retainer spring
  • Safety
  • Buffer retainer
  • Safety detent & spring
  • Triggerguard & roll pin
  • Takedown detents & springs
  • Pivot / takedown pins

The fire control system - trigger, hammer, disconnector (and pins) - may be the most "personal" part of any custom AR-15. Along with the pistol grip, it’s the area most customizers and custom builders prefer to select very carefully. As a result Geissele omits both components from this AR-15 Lower Parts Kit so you don’t have to spend money on parts you won’t use!

The Takedown Pins Are Too Tight
This is a good standard parts kit. All of the parts fit well in an Anderson lower (I launched the bolt catch plunger across the room and didn't find it so I can't attest to that), but there is a minor issue with the takedown pins. They installed with minimal issues like any other set of pins, but when I tested the function on an Anderson Upper, I could not even force both of the pins completely in at the same time and had to use a punch to push the pins back out completely. I dropped a BCM upper onto the lower and was able to get the pins pushed back in with more force than should be necessary, then had to struggle with the pins to get the upper off. This seems to be a recurring problem with the product, according to the other reviewers. I recommend either sanding them down a little bit before installing them or just getting a different set of pins, otherwise you'll have to fight your gun to get it apart.

Great parts
Came all in a bag with no instructions or parts list but they worked great for my Spikes Lower build. None of the parts are branded with the Geissele logo but still look great and like any other lower parts kit.

Good Quality - Off Color
This kit had everything I needed to build out a stripped lower. I purchased a trigger elsewhere. No fitting issues, and all parts expected were included. The black color for mag release, safety, and bolt catch were a lighter black vs my Aero lower & upper. I figured black was black, but that's not the case. I'm ok with the slight difference, and believe the parts are of high quality. All installed as I'd hoped and have functioned as expected for >1000 rounds.
