Poor Sizing
Most of the kit looks good but the bolt catch spring is larger on one end and does not fit.
Out of Spec Mag Release
I purchased 2 of these kits and one of them fit right in great. The other had a out of spec mag release, to eject the magazine it required way more force than normal. Also when inserting magazines they were extremely tight. I tried oiling the mag release , i figured it might just need a little break in. Didn't help at all. You'd expect a company like Geissele to check this stuff especially at the price they sell these kits at. Another reviewer also had the same issue so it seems it's not uncommon. Geissele is known for their great quality products, like triggers, rails etc. I expected the same with this LPK, i hope they get it right next time.
Not Mil-Spec
I purchased this LPK by Geissele because of my great experience I have had with their SSA trigger. Unfortunately this LPK did not fit well in my Aero lower. The trigger guard roll pin never fully seated even after a fair amount of hammering. I finally replaced it with an extra Colt roll pin I had lying around. The safety selector is not reversible like a mil-spec safety is. Finally, the magazine catch appears to not be machined correctly as my magazines take extra effort to seat into the magwell. I am fine with the trigger group not being included, but the fitment of this kit was a major issue for me. As an old Army 45B, I know you should only need to coax these parts into place. I hope Geissele rectifies this issue in the future. -Pete
Kit is missing trigger pins
The parts in this kit are mil-spec quality, although the takedown pins were *very* tight in my receiver and had to be lubed and worked back and forth just to get them inserted all the way. They eventually loosen up and everything is fine. The problem with this kit is that it doesn't contain the trigger and hammer pins so if you buy a trigger without them (hrrumph... TriggerTech) then you will have to turn around and order the pins and wait another week for them to come. The DPMS pins are the cheapest at $2.99 each but then consider shipping and you are adding another $10 to the price of this kit. Now you're into the range of the CMMG and DPMS complete lower parts kits. So this kit is really not a value for the price they are asking
Broke both rolling pin
Parts seems to be quality parts, all spring is stronger than my Novesky spring, which can be a good and bad thing. But my complain come from the rolling pin, as it is pretty much impossible to install in my Spikes lower. Luckily I also bought the Geissele Maritime bolt catch that come with a rollling pin, which is much easier to install. But my trigger guard still has half of the pin stick out.
Disapointment
I specifically picked this lower parts kit thinking it would have a nice smooth safety selector. Mr. Geissele even said in a live video when he announced the release of his lower parts kits that the safety would be smooth and be easy to flip from safe to fire. This is the worst safety selector I've ever come across. It takes more effort, is gritty and hangs up in a couple positions between safe and fire.It also requires you to fully push it all the way to the fire position. Hopefully I just got a lemon because I love everything else Geissele makes. I have no complaints as far as the rest of the kit goes. Everything fit well and I had no problem installing the roll pins.
Lower parts kit review
I wanted to be happy with this product but it seems like almost each part was problematic. I am comparing this to a colt lpk minus fcg. The trigger guard pin was out of spec and took some serious pressure in a vise to drive it thru. The same can be said for the bolt catch release pin. The finish looks good but this lower parts kit was such a pain to put together without marring my receiver. Next time ill just spend the extra 20 bucks for a quality lower parts kit.
