Noveske KX3 Works Excellent On My SBR!!!
I specifically ordered the Noveske KX3 for my VLTOR 7.5" Barreled SBR (5.56mm) and to review for my blog fans and followers. Due to the fact that I chose such a short barrel, I needed a flash suppressor that was not only long enough to clear the end of my VLTOR CASV-MT Handguard, but something that also create enough back pressure to cycle my rifle properly. When the KX3 arrived, I couldn't have been happier. It was packaged very nicely and came with a set of detailed instructions referencing installation, use and maintenance. I also noticed that each KX3 has its own individual serial number, which tells me the quality control is very high. It was a solid as a rock and appeared to be made very well. Installation couldn't haven been easier and it installs just like any other flash hider. It is necessary to use a crush washer when installing, but no problem! Each KX3 comes with a crush washer of its own. Simply use a 3/4" wrench and screw this baby on. The only challenge was making sure the KX3 was turned to the exact point that it needed to be. But this is typical of any brake or flash suppressor. Once it was installed, I immediately took my SBR to the range and fired about 400 rounds through it without ANY malfunctions, FTF or any other related problems. The Noveske KX3 does its job and then some. It doesn't almost, but COMPLETELY eliminates side flash and concussion which makes it much more pleasant for my buddies and other people on the line. Due to its heavier weight, the KX3 also does an excellent job of keeping down the muzzle rise, making follow up shots much easier. This is also made even better by the linear design of the KX3. All of the gases, flash and concussion are projected forward of the shooter's position, making the rifle much more pleasant to shoot. The KX3 DOES NOT REDUCE SOUND! Although other's here have said it reduces sound, it does not. Because of the linear design, the sound is projected forward which may make it seem quieter, but trust me, shoot this baby under an overhang or indoors and it is plenty loud enough. As far as the flash goes (which in my opinion is the most important thing) it does reduce the radial flash around the barrel. It BY NO MEANS eliminates flash. Again, the flash is projected forward from the shooter and usually appears about 2-4 feet in front of the barrel. It actually makes a hell of a fireball, hence the nickname "Fire Breathing Pig". BUT, the fireball is linear in shape almost like a cone, so from the enemies position would appear smaller. I plan to shoot this at night, but haven't done so yet. I could only imagine how large the flame will appear then! The KX3 does exactly as designed and made my SBR run flawlessly. On top of functionality, the KX3 also adds a level of awesomeness to the rifle. Not only does it work, but looks great too! Because the barrel on my SBR was so short, it actually did not clear the front of my handguard. The KX3's length (3.28" Long) helped me clear the handguard with room to spare and also gave it the appearance of a suppressor. Great product! But don't think this is only for SBR's! This can be used on any length barrel and give you the same results. After the shooting was all said and done, cleaning it could have been easier. Simply remove the clip, twist off the cone and clean. It is that simple. One last note for those of you considering in buying the KX3...Shooting over time and the heat produced by such WILL slowly erode the smallest end of the cone design....THIS IS NORMAL and Noveske even states so. It WILL NOT affect the KX3's performance and is perfectly normal. I would highly recommend this product to any of my close friends of family members that shoot. This is a great buy and do not let the price shy you away. It is worth every penny. I plan to buy another here in the near future. Have fun, be safe and shoot on! -Michael Sapp
A must for any M4/AR15
While the price may scare you a bit, it is well worth it! It should be called the screaming pig instead of flaming pig. If you want your AR to stand out on the range, this will do it!
great!!
Does its job well and as far as the review about being quieter what he is revering to is it redirects most of the sound waves forward instead of back towards the shooter
looks will fool you,
I put this on my ar and my acr. It works great for low light and ccb.
Nice
Running this on my 9 1/4 inch entry gun when the can is off. If your using a SBR you need this for your guys next to you. Found it heavy and useless on 16 inch pluse barrels - but for SBRs it is a must.
Flaming Pig
Really reduced recoil and muzzle climb. Not to mention that it looks great with full length hand-guard on 16". Also, easy to disassemble for cleaning.
The PIG!
I was impressed how little recoil I felt after swapping out the factory suppressor. Less recoil, quieter, no noticeable flash. This thing works very well!
The Flaming Pig WORKS!
I installed my KX3 on a Rock River PDS pistol. The pistol came to me with an A2 birdcage, which dissipated flash nicely, but was loud and did nothing for recoil or muzzle flip (which isn't much, anyway). I first installed a Levang linear comp, which directed sound and blast downrange and reduced recoil a bit, but was flashier. I finally sprang for the Noveske, and I'm glad I did. It is big and heavy (that's why four stars, instead of five) but MUCH quieter from the shooter's position, and what little flash there is starts about 2 feet in front of the muzzle. I shot it without ear protection, with 62gr. OTM Federal FBI overrun, and my ears didn't even ring. Loud downrange, though, which is why it gets to be a flash suppressor, and not a can.
Great for Night Hunting
The last reviewer seemed believe it is useless on anything that is not an SBR. This is incorrect. I have tried 5 different flash suppressors on my M4 with minimal difference in the size of the fireball. I always have problems with my scope This worked perfectly with my co-witnessed night vision scope shooting nuisance armadillos. It really holds down the flash at night if you need to make a follow-up shot... which I never do. :-)

In your review, you stated "It was quieter too" That is an absolute falsehood. If a muzzle device quiets the report of a firearm by even one half of one percent of a decibel, it is classified by the ATF as a silencer. This product is not a silencer and is not marketed as such by Brownells. It is nothing more than a flash suppressor.
