Rugged, flip-up sights provide failsafe backup when your primary optic or red dot sight fails. Sight body flips up easily when you need it and locks securely in place under powerful spring pressure and two locking detent balls, so it can’t be accidentally bumped down until you hit the spring-loaded button on the left side of the base to retract it. Positions apertures at the same height as factory sights, simplifying integration of these sights on your rifle. Base clamps securely to any military or commercial Picatinny rail using a standard flathead screwdriver. No protruding knobs or levers to catch on brush, clothing, or other equipment. Sturdy, protective “ears” shield posts and apertures from impact. HK-Style Front - distinctive “globe” shape that aids in fast target acquisition under stress. Also available with a self-illuminating Tritium dot on the post for precise shot placement in low-light conditions.

Great flip up sight.

I put all 5 of my friends flip up front sights on a table to compare to this one. My friend was amazed how much better it was compared to all the ones he bought. The front sight post was thinner and the quality was so much better. I have this on my Sig Sauer M400 Enhanced Carbine with a 13" Troy F/F MRF quad rail. It sits at the same height as the A2 front sight post that was on it. I put my tactical scope on and it lined up perfectly. For a rear sight I am using the one that came on the Sig and they match up perfectly to each other. The rear sight is much better than most I have seen in shops. I have accumulated a lot of parts that have joined my junk drawer from so many companies putting out junky accessories to make a quick buck off the AR craze but Troy is a company that consistently puts out top of the line gear. Save yourself the headaches and try this one first. I never give reviews on products but this one definitely deserves it.

So I just picked up this front sight a couple of weeks ago to finally replace the cheap made in china fixed one I had. I picked the HK style simply because of looks but after having used it the function is superb. The round hood let's you pick up and locate the front sight into the rear apiture very quickly.. Very happy with my purchase

Troy Industries makes the best railed gas block mounted folding sight on the market. Have a set mounted on my DPMS Oracle and could not be happier with them. They look great and the operation is flawless. They really are built rock solid, and I'm completely confident they would hold up even under extreme combat conditions. The anti-rotation QD sockets are a nice feature, but be aware that Magpul handguards will not fit your rifle if you are using this product; the shroud on the front interferes with the QD sockets, preventing the top handguard from seating the delta ring. Hardly an issue but it's worth noting if you prefer Magpul furniture. I'm incredibly selective when it comes to the crucial components of my firearms, and the bottom line is if you need a front sight that will mount on your gas block you simply can't go wrong with this product.

Shooting with these folding battle sights is a pleasure. The rear sight has two same-plane apertures: large .190" for a wide field of view/close range targets, and the other .070" aperture is used for acquiring long range targets. With the flick of a finger you can easily change between each aperture. The only small problem is you can't completely fold the rear sight with the long range aperture in use. Simply change it back to the close range setting and it will completely fold down.

great product

Very good fit on my LaRue Tactical 11.0 Rail System. The finish was flawless and it feels really sturdy. The locking mechanism is very positive. I really like the HK style because when I have the sight in the upright position, it centers itself though my Aimpoint scope naturally more so than the standard M4 style sights. When the sight is folded down, it is completely out of view through my Aimpoint.

Sight is better than my eyes

I built an AR-10 with a flat top upper receiver, I got the pop up rear sight and the pop up front sight. The sight was very easy to adjust with a bore sight.

My First Choice Among Four

I like the HK style front sights, and I recently compared versions made by MI, PRI, YH, and this one by Troy. In short, the Troy won for me over these others. When deployed, its lock-up felt more solid than the others, with less wiggle. It stance was more upright than the MI. I wished it had the pop-up feature that the YH version had (the Troy has to be lifted manually... as was the case with all the others), but the YH version had some other issues. The quality and features of the PRI made it a close second, but the PRI's somewhat scupted hood made it just a bit more difficult to grab and deploy. I thought I would really prefer the PRI's full hood, but when mounted with my MATECH rear peep sight, the hoods on all versions were obscured from the perspective of my line of sight... so full hood or partial hood didn't matter. The only main concern I have is the cost for a BUIS that I hope to never use (as long as my primary sight is functional).
