AR-15 EDT® SERIES TRIGGER ASSEMBLIES

AR-15 EDT® SERIES TRIGGER ASSEMBLIES Reviews & Ratings

Hiperfire’s EDT triggers give your AR-15 an upgraded single-stage trigger pull without sacrificing "mil-spec" reliability. All four Enhanced Duty Triggers deliver a medium pull weight of 4.5 or 5.5 lbs. - lighter than a plain G.I. trigger for sure, but safe enough for law enforcement, service rifle competition, and personal defense use. Mechanical advantage built into the EDT trigger geometry gives the lighter-than-mil-spec pull weight, while mil-spec hammer energy is preserved to ensure hard, positive primer strikes. Hiperfire coupled the lighter weight with an overall pull profile that is smooth and consistent, with a clean, decisive break, short over-travel, and a fast reset you can feel and hear, making the EDT a very comfortable "shooter’s" trigger.

  • Single-stage with minimal creep
  • 2 interchangeable hammer springs for 4.5 or 5.5 lb. pull weight
  • SwingFast Hammer Head™ gives unusually fast locktime
  • Extra-power hammer spring for positive hammer strikes without increasing pull weight
  • Self-cleaning - designed to allow debris to fall out to prevent jams & reset problems
  • Fits small-pin (.153") AR-15 lower receivers & AR 308 rifles that use AR-15 triggers

Hiperfire offers the EDT trigger in four configurations: Sharp Shooter is the base-model with features listed above and a curved trigger shoe. Heavy Gunner has the curved shoe and even heavier SwingFast hammer than the Sharp Shooter for ultra-reliable hammer strikes. The Designated Marksman has Hiperfire's Duplex Trigger Bow. Place your finger in a high position for a heavier pull and an extra measure of safety to prevent premature discharge under stress. Low position for precise, target-rifle control. Also has extra-weight Swingfast hammer. Enhanced Duty model is beefed up for full-auto select-fire AR-15 / M16 / M4 type rifles carbines; curved shoe. Hiperfire made the EDT trigger line all about choice: you get to choose the type of trigger pull profile that works best for you - without breaking the bank to do it.

Great trigger!
The people saying this trigger is bad are new to gunsmithing or just dont know how to install a trigger, if installed properly and lubed properly like all triggers should be, this trigger is better than triggers 3x its price. Fantastic trigger, little creep and a crisp break with a fantastic reset. As well as some nice cuts to help clear debris and increase reliability, i have never had a light strike and i have used all kinds of ammo and some with some old hard primers. Highly recommend this in a duty/work rifle, it can be used for competition for people who like a little heavier pull than most competition triggers. Give this trigger a shot, you wont regret it!

Happy
This trigger is a tremendous improvement over the basic mil-spec trigger that came on my lower. I haven't been to the range yet because they're still closed due to covid (which will soon be yesterday's news) But I can tell just by how it feels that my groups will shrink, no doubt about it! I'm glad I took the time to shop around and find this great deal

The best.
EDT triggers have ruined Geissele, Larue, and KAC triggers for me. Somehow hiperfire offers these triggers at budget prices, but Id gladly pay up to $200 for one. I slightly prefer single stage triggers anyway, and because the EDT offers the same or heavier hammer fall energy as a mil spec trigger and has a debris channel and quality springs, it is more reliable than all the afore mentioned triggers. Theres no going back for a quality serious use rifle trigger. For competition and bench rest, other options maybe better though.

zero drag, sharp crisp break.
Installed in a BCI receiver with a CMMG lower parts kit and a POF ambi selector. This trigger works great in my gun. Zero drag/play and a solid crisp break. Installed in less than 20 minutes without any problems. No function issues either. 5 star so far.

Heavy Gunner Review
Easy to install, nice 4 1/2 trigger pull. I'm a weekend at the range guy so I didn't need a "Hair Trigger" lol

Smooth and crisp
I love the feel of this trigger. Sure it doesn't match up against triggers 2-3x its price, but for $100 you're getting one heck of a crisp trigger. I wasn't sure how much I'd like the duplex trigger design, but after one day at the range I was totally sold on it. One user reported a gritty pull but I have to imagine there was something wrong with that trigger or how it was installed. This is extremely smooth for me with a very crisp and predictable break.

Switching from geissele
Ive been using some geissele triggers for my long range/target ar-15s, but for defensive/short range carbines I take to class I prefer single stage. These triggers are perfect for that, and pull between 4 & 5.5 lbs, which is ideal for me. At less than half the price of the other triggers Ive been using, Im only buying these from now on. I also feel like theyre the most reliable, because they still generate enough hammer velocity to properly strike primers and they even have a little pocket for excess carbon and grime (from shooting suppressed or not cleaning) to escape through. If youre building a lightweight rifle the original edt with the minimalist hammer is one of the lightest weight triggers out there, and it increases lock time.

Worth more than I paid.
I put this Designated Marksman trigger on a Colt Expanse CE2000 lower. OMG!!!, what an improvement. I only shoot to punch paper, so Bambi doesn't have to worry, but since I put this trigger on I know that my groups are only a bit over half the size that they were. I spend half my range time shooting with the carbine upper that came on the Colt, with iron sights, out to 300 yards. The other half, I shoot from a bench, with a 4-12 power scope, on a bipod, out to 300 yards, from a 20" barreled upper that I built. From the carbine, my groups at 100 yards went from about 2-1/2 inches to less than 2 inches. That's with iron sights. From the 20 inch upper, with a scope, my groups went from about an inch to somewhere between a half inch and 3/4 inches. I will be honest, most of my shooting experience is from the Marine Corps. I qualified a total of 9 times in 14 years. I fired a good, solid expert every time, 230 or so out of 250 points. We only used iron sights and fired out to 500 yards. So, what I am saying is that my shooting experience is extremely limited, compared to some of you that will read this. However, I am experienced enough to recognize an improvement from a standard milspec to this Hiperfire trigger. Enough of an improvement to warrant spending the amount asked for it. So, dust off your wallet and break out some cash to drop on one of these bad boys. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Great Trigger for the money
I have used several of the EDT Sharp Shooter triggers in my builds and have been very pleased. The triggers have functioned flawlessly and are easy to install. I use the 4.5 LB included trigger spring and have found that the pull weight is consistently falling in the 4-5 LB range. It offers a smooth, non-gritty pull that breaks cleanly and a quick reset. I have had no light strikes or ignition problems with this trigger (I normally use Winchester 55 grain 5.56 bulk ammunition at the range, but have had no problems with firing cheap steel case 223 as well.) This is by far a much better option than standard Mil Spec triggers. It even comes with a neat little sticker for your rifle case or work bench area.
