AR-15 DD MAGAZINES 5.56

AR-15 DD MAGAZINES 5.56 Reviews & Ratings

The new Daniel Defense Magazine is built with the same legendary quality and exacting specifications as Daniel Defense rifles. This lightweight magazine holds up to 32 rounds of 5.56x45mm ammunition and is molded from a durable carbine-fiber-reinforced polymer. Improved feed-lip design and an enhanced anti-tilt follower provide smooth, reliable feeding. An impact absorbing butt plate adds to the magazine’s overall durability. A non-snag design and textured surfaces make inserting and removing the magazine nearly effortless. Magazine disassembles easily with the simple removal of the floorplate. Compatible with 5.56x45mm NATO, 223 Remington and 300 Blackout.

Great magazines
My favorite of the polymer magazines; excellent quality with good fit and finish. Used for a carbine class with no issues. They also look nice, with a good textured grip.

Texture
The only reason I like these mags is the texture and being able to down load to 30 rounds, if texture isn't a big deal too you save the money and get gen3 pmag's.

Best Mag Ever
I bought one of these while shopping for ammo... no regrets! Smooth to load, excellent follower, just the right amount of stippling, and best of all, it works in all of my lowers. Everything from a Superior Arms to a FZX. Sturdy and very reliable, excellent work Daniels Defense.

EXCELLENT MAG, FITS EVEN SMALL MAG WELLS
These mag's were fit tested in various AR-15's and fit perfect and feed 100% with no problems. The 32 round capacity allows a loaded 30 round mag to be locked in the mag well with ease. Loaded mag's did not have any feed lip distortion, even after an extended period. The exterior texture has an excellent grip. These are my preferred choice in mag's.

Very smooth
Just got one of these in with my new DD rifle. I couldn't believe how smoothly it loaded. The mag feels very well built, it would be worth it to try one out.

My new favorite AR magazine
I'm a bit obsessive. I just have to have things that fit and work perfectly. These magazines fit into the AR magazine well better than almost any magazine I've tried. I have to have a magazine shape that matches the angle of the AR magazine well perfectly; and these do. It's not required for function, but it looks right and I just have to have things that look right. I would not recommend these for an AR with a non-standard magazine well like the Seekins, but for 99% of the ARs these are perfect. I prefer the standard AR magazine well anyway. These magazines insert easily without over insertion and lock up every time with the bolt closed. The followers do not tilt at all. They have a smooth, glass-like movement within the magazine. The texture of the magazines provide a very positive grip. These are my new favorite AR magazines. I just ordered 10 more.

Looks used and abused
Received mine today and it looks used. Scratches and scrapes everywhere and looks like it was melted on the back. Even my old mags are in better shape than this one. Cycles through my rifle with no issue; it's also a Daniel Defense so no surprise there. Feels strong and has good grip. Just not sure its worth the asking price. I only bought it to match the rifle. But, pretty disappointed with the arrival condition - the box it came in was in good condition, though. So Id Ill buy accessories elsewhere now. Condition of the mag has no bearing on my rating; lost a star for price point vs utility.

Great
A little on the expensive side, but that's standard with Daniel defense. But you get what you pay for, a high quality magazine that will withstand a large amount of abuse and keep on ticking.

Follower Damages Easily, No BHO
I ordered 3 of these and after some moderate use, one of the magazines failed to bolt hold open. The bolt of my rifle somehow scraped the follower, cutting a channel in it that allows the bolt to pass right over after the last round has been fired, instead of holding the bolt open.
