The ATLAS R-ONE is the newest addition to the Aero Precision Handguard lineup. Machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum, the R-ONE line of handguards are designed with size and weight in mind, providing the perfect handguard for your lightweight build. Our proprietary ATLAS attachment system is a durable and dependable mounting platform, maintaining a slim profile while still providing the strength and stability customers have grown to love from Aero Precision handguards.

The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation.

All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard. Lightweight By Design.

ATLAS Handguards are designed to match seamlessly with our M4E1 Threaded Upper Receivers. Additionally, they are compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 upper receivers as well. However, they may not be compatible with billet upper receivers due to indexing tabs. Save when you buy them as a combo.

Solid rail

A solid rail that attaches simply with only a couple draw backs. The barrel nut is heavier than needed No directions on assembly or torque spec are included 30-60lb If you use standard magpul mlok rail segments on this rail they will likely come in contact with your barrels gas block if running a pistol length gas system. This can cause accuracy issues and gas tube alignment issues. It can be mitigated by filing down the screw on the mlok section but you still will have minimal clearance. Otherwise its a solid rail at a great price.

Well built, but needed fitting.

I was attracted to the Aero Precision Atlas R-One hand guard by its looks. It is exceptionally well built and study, but slim. The barrel nut is the best design that I have seen, and a special wrench head is provided for installation. The hand guard is very secure and does not wobble at all once placed onto the barrel nut. Unfortunately I found that the tapered locking nuts which are installed to complete the installation did not fit all the way into the hand guard even without the special screw inside, which did not allow the locking nuts to be flush to the hand guard. it appears to me that the locking nuts were machined a bit too large in certain areas. I had to hand fit each locking nut to the hand guard, which took some time.
