The ATLAS R-ONE is the newest addition to the Aero Precision Handguard lineup. Machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum, the R-ONE line of handguards are designed with size and weight in mind, providing the perfect handguard for your lightweight build. Our proprietary ATLAS attachment system is a durable and dependable mounting platform, maintaining a slim profile while still providing the strength and stability customers have grown to love from Aero Precision handguards.

The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation.

All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard. Lightweight By Design.

ATLAS Handguards are designed to match seamlessly with our M4E1 Threaded Upper Receivers. Additionally, they are compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 upper receivers as well. However, they may not be compatible with billet upper receivers due to indexing tabs. Save when you buy them as a combo.

Light weigh and looks great how ever

Zero instructions in box. No real explanation on how the handguard tightens to the barrel nut. It included some shims but no explanation on why or why not to use them. No torque specs listen. Basically u get handguard, sticker, shims and a tool for the screw that tightens the wedge lock down with zero torque specs.. I guess ya just crank it down and hope it all holds things in place. Not what I'd expect from Aero on such and important part. Will say the cerakote looks great it's light weight

Handguard and sling

This handguard will not work with Magpul Gen2, QD will not attach to the handguard due to barrel, post of the QD is too long and it will bottom out on the barrel and preventing them from making a full contact. I'm not sure because QD post is too long or handguard is not wide enough. As of now I will only give 3 stars. As far as the handguard itself is a high quality and Im very satisfied with the purchase minus the QD port.

Taper Lock Nuts Issues

Regardless some bad reviews about difficulty to install the taper locks nut, I decided to buy it because its aesthetically pleasing and Aero Precision appears have good quality and reasonable price. However, I had to file the handguard a little and gently tap with a hammer in order to install the Taper Lock Nuts. The handguard fits great on the uppers and the barrel nut/shims set up is easy, so I could give it 5 stars. But, due the Taper Lock Nuts issues Ill rate it as 3 stars.
